Followed by immediate writing, auspiciousness! May virtue and excellence increase greatly as this excellent edition is widely compared! ༈ Profound Rain-Invoking Ritual resides herein. Here, the teachings that align in intention from the Hayagriva tantra, Naga-Dragon Subjugation, Subjugation of Arrogance and other activities, as well as Guru Padmasambhava's profound secret treasure instructions, are as follows: First, go to the place where the nagas reside, generate bodhicitta, and with the three white substances and honey. On a platform, arrange an eight-petaled lotus, and in the center, arrange a white offering cake. On the eight petals, place the eight nagas, and around the perimeter, arrange various forms of naga wealth. Generate the nagas, invite them, and dissolve them. Offer the torma. Recite the water offering, fulfillment, and Great Cloud Sutra. Think that the nagas are pleased and cause rain to fall. If there is enough rain, that alone will cause it to fall. Then, to cause rain peacefully: Make one hundred and eight pills of the three white substances, the three sweet substances, and flour. Separately arrange naga medicine and milk. Pour them into vessels of gold, silver, and precious jewels. Place them on the mandala and recite. On each pill, recite the mantra one hundred and eight times: Oṃ Nāga Kāla Hūṃ Nāga Lele Dumba Lele Nāga Rāja Hūṃ Phaṭ. If you are doing a continuous practice, the rain-causing pills should be made in the king's month beforehand. At this time, there is a separate oral instruction to visualize oneself as the water deity Varuna. Add Bhariśa and other substances to change the direction. Note: Pour into a new earthenware pot. When needed again, pour it into the water spring, and it will cause rain. It is said that at that time, one should avoid lepers, widows, and other impure people. Pouring the pills into the water spring will definitely cause rain. For forceful rain-causing: Musk, antelope blood, menstrual blood of a widow, potent poison, and crow dung, five parts equally ground finely, made into pills the size of peas, placed inside a bamboo node, and the opening sealed tightly with clay. Tie it with a yak hair rope in a cross shape. Draw a vajra cross on a stone and lay it underneath. Press it down with a drawing of the four continents and Mount Meru, and then place it in the water spring. With the pride of Vajrapani or Hayagriva, torment and urge all the nagas, thinking that the breath from your mouth condenses into clouds and causes a great rain to fall. Recite this mantra for causing and gathering rain: Thum Thum Chem Chem Vajra Kha Phyi Chad. Tormenting with samadhi, it will definitely rain within three days. Then, take out the substances, and in the place where they were, pour a lot of water. Pour in naga medicine and milk to nourish them. Oṃ Nāga Deva Svāhā.
