Oh! Clothes are silk and so on, matching their respective colors. Secondly, regarding the substance of firewood that sustains the fire and the various sacrificial substances for accomplishing activities, there are two explanations. Firstly, firewood is wood with the same material as Yam Shing. In peaceful rituals, use wood without living creatures, slightly shorter than the stove, or sweet-tasting wood, or clean, dry cow dung from nomadic monasteries. In enriching rituals, use fruit-bearing trees. In subjugation rituals, use sour trees with flowers. In summoning rituals, use thorny trees. In wrathful rituals, use spicy, foul-smelling wood from graveyards, or dry grass and bark eaten by camels, donkeys, etc. All activities should be performed with firewood that is in accordance with the activity. Round firewood, etc., is piled up in the shape of a stove, and inside, for peaceful rituals, etc., place red or yellow butter lamps with complete fire implements. Secondly, regarding sacrificial substances, Yam Shing is the substance that sustains the fire and generates splendor. In peaceful rituals, Yam Shing is made from the top part of milky trees such as fig trees and palasha trees, with two leaves and buds at the top, the root and top cut evenly, measuring twelve fingers in length, about the thickness of a small finger. The two tips are smeared with honey, milk, and butter, and sprinkled with nectar and its water. Hold it with the thumb and forefinger, pointing one tip outwards, and perform the fire offering. Furthermore, old, crooked firewood, thicker or thinner than the standard, longer or shorter, rotten, eaten by creatures, etc., bark removed, dry, broken, with holes, with two tips, without leaves, will respectively cause faults such as death, bad luck, illness, etc., so these should be avoided in peaceful and other virtuous activities. In wrathful activities, having these is praised. The Yam Shing for enriching rituals is cut from the middle of those previous trees, about the size of a wine cup, and the length is one cubit. It is smeared with nectar, yellow fragrance, sweet three substances, butter, etc. The Yam Shing for subjugation rituals is thorny like an iron hook, a type with sour and reddish fruits, used for subjugation and summoning with subjugation. In Tibet, although those trees mentioned in the scriptures have not been found, in peaceful rituals, use white-colored, fragrant wood with flowers, and in enriching rituals, use yellow-colored, fragrant

For those with glory and power, it should be done with red things. The violent ascension wood is neem, sandalwood, and other thorny trees, types with pungent tastes, and made from the root parts of burnt charcoal, etc., with openings, about ten fingers long, sharpened at both ends, and smeared with poison, blood, and mustard. For the ascension wood for all activities, it is the udumbara tree, palasha, ashoka, sandalwood, etc., which are very fresh, thumb-thick, straight, smeared with nectar and fragrance, and both ends smeared with oil suitable for the activity. The main ingredient for burnt offerings is ghee, for the three, such as pacifying, use fresh ghee of red, yellow, etc., and mix with three sweets. For violent ones, use ghee with pungent tastes and ghee of sesame and mustard. Furthermore, the main ingredients for burnt offerings are sesame for pacifying sins, mustard for destroying obstacles, excellent food for increasing happiness, that is, fried food made by adding flour to ghee, mixed with three sweets, or yogurt porridge made by mixing it with milk and yogurt. Rice is used for increasing merit, and it is good even if unhulled rice appears. In addition, there are praises for various activities, such as seeing the faces of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas by performing a hundred thousand fire offerings with white lotuses, and achieving the kingship of the three realms by performing fire offerings with bilva fruits, etc., which are recorded in various tantras, and if you want to achieve these, you need to do so. Wash the fruits, etc., with clean water to remove stones, bran, and other impurities, making them pure and uncontaminated. During taming, for the three, such as pacifying, hold the container of burnt offerings in the left hand, take it with the thumb and forefinger of the right hand, and offer it with the Varada mudra, as stated in the Karma Mala Tantra: The thumb and forefinger are joined together, which is called auspicious, and with this, take all the items.
