Because mindfulness, distraction, and delusion or wrong views are weak, that is, they have declined, the five faculties such as faith are powerful and cannot be overcome by opposing factors, so they are called the power of faith, etc. In this way, these five faculties and five powers are also the result of the former being the latter. Through the power of faith, there is diligence; through the power of diligence, there is mindfulness; from this, there is samadhi and equanimity of mind, until one knows reality as it is. Secondly, it is shown by "the faculties, etc." The state of the five faculties and the five powers is the part of ascertainment, that is, the four paths of application are divided into two pairs. How are they established? It should be known that at the time of the heat and peak stages, there are five faculties, and at the time of forbearance and the highest mundane qualities, there are five powers. Sixth, it is shown by "the limb of self-nature, etc." The seven limbs of enlightenment are: mindfulness, discrimination of phenomena, diligence, joy, pliancy, samadhi, and equanimity. Among them, the wisdom of discriminating phenomena is called the limb of self-nature, because the wisdom that sees the truth of the nature of reality is the nature of the path of seeing, therefore it is called the nature or self-nature of enlightenment. Mindfulness is the limb of the place of enlightenment, that is, it becomes the place of qualities. Third, diligence is the limb of renunciation because it causes one to transcend opposing factors. Fourth, joy is the limb of benefit, that is, the qualities obtained from those paths. Pliancy, samadhi, and equanimity are the three limbs of non-affliction, that is, for these three, pliancy is the basis of non-affliction, samadhi is the place of non-affliction, and equanimity is shown as the self-nature of non-affliction. Seventh, it is shown by "completely cutting off, etc." In this way, right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right samadhi, among these eight limbs of the noble path, right view is the nature of completely cutting off reality as it is, that is, after seeing the nature of reality with the path of seeing.

Since the wisdom born of karma is without defilement, the meaning realized through the mode of certain knowledge is to hold or completely determine suchness. Right thought and speech are what make others understand, that is, the intention to show how one has understood the meanings is thought, and what is spoken in language, aroused by it, is speech, and that is also the undefiled right one. The three of speech, action, and livelihood are to make others believe, that is, how right speech makes others know pure views and makes others believe, right action is not to practice evil and unwholesome dharmas universally, it is the precepts that please the noble ones born of dharma-nature, therefore it makes others touch pure precepts and makes others believe. Right livelihood is that the noble ones are separated from flattery and so on, which are wrong livelihoods, in every way, therefore, it makes others know that they have a lack of resources and makes others believe, this is considered to be true. Effort, samadhi, and mindfulness are the antidotes to the opposing sides of the path, that is, how effort abandons the afflictions to be abandoned by meditation, and mindfulness abandons the afflictions of near-mindedness, sinking and excitement, because for the causes of calm abiding and so on, mindfulness is placed very close. Samadhi is the antidote to the opposing side of gaining mastery over special qualities, that is, abiding in samadhi and accomplishing the qualities of clairvoyance and so on. Therefore, the limbs of the noble path are those eight, such as view. Second, the division into three states is shown by conformity and so on, all paths are gathered by three states, by the accumulation path and the application path, cultivating the path through the door of mindfulness and so on is, measuring in accordance with suchness by hearing and thinking, therefore it is not inverted. Grasping the general meaning of selflessness as the self-characteristic of selflessness is therefore a state with inversion. At the time of the path of seeing and the path of meditation, even if there are aftereffects related to the obscuration of inversion, it is also a return from inversion because the meaning of selflessness is directly seen. The ultimate practice
