The six from the realm of form to the realm of consciousness of mind are the meaning of the seed that knows and holds the object, form, etc. With the nature of clarity and knowing, it determines what the nature of the object is like. The so-called "other intention" only refers to the intention to be skilled in the realm, other than the first place of learning just mentioned. The following chapters should also be understood in this way. Third, it is indicated by feelings and meanings, etc. Among the twelve sources, the inner six from the eye source to the mind source are the source or birth gate for feelings to be closely enjoyed, because the inner six sources such as the eye closely enjoy the nature of the six objects, thus experiencing happiness and suffering, etc. The outer six sources from the form source to the dharma source are the source for the way of individually determining the nature of the meanings to be closely enjoyed, because form, etc., exist in the object, so by knowing them, the close enjoyment of determination arises. In addition, the source is said to be the gate through which awareness closely arises, because through these gates, awareness arises in the object and expands, so it is named that way. Therefore, form, etc., are the objects to be determined, and the eye, etc., are the enjoyers of the feelings arising from the object, etc. Therefore, when the object and the object holder gather, awareness arises and closely enjoys it, so it is called close enjoyment, and the gate through which it arises is these twelve dharmas included in the inner and outer. In this regard, all that is established as dharma appears in awareness, and it is called that way by it, and all the parts of happiness and suffering arising from it are only experienced through awareness, and there is no other way, so awareness itself is the establisher, and among all the established dharmas, this is the most important, so in that way, it itself is indicated in the way of the gate of arising and expansion. Fourth, it is indicated by cause and effect, etc. What is the so-called dependent origination? All inner and outer dharmas arise from the combination of cause and condition.

That is, all the realms of sentient beings arise in the manner of the twelve links from ignorance to old age and death. All external phenomena arise from the collection of causes and conditions, just as sprouts grow from seeds. Whatever does not arise from causelessness or non-causes, such as time and Ishvara, is like that. Thus, Having understood this, one is skilled in the meaning of dependent origination when one neither superimposes nor denigrates the cause that produces all phenomena, their respective results, and the manner in which the cause generates its own result, but ascertains them as they are. Superimposing a non-cause as a cause is like believing that time and Ishvara are the creators of sentient beings. Denigrating a cause as a non-cause is like believing that the present aggregates do not arise from the aggregates of the previous life, or that karma and afflictions are not the cause of the arising of sentient beings. Superimposing on the result is like believing that these worlds are the result of being created by Ishvara, or that they arise from their own nature. Denigrating the result is like saying that there is no ripening of karma, or that there is no future life, or that there is no cessation, etc., all of which denigrate existing results. Superimposing on the effort or action of the cause producing the result is like, for example, when a sprout arises from a seed and actions arise from ignorance, one thinks in advance, "It will produce that result," and considers it as an agent in the manner of an agent, or one holds onto an independent action as if Ishvara, etc., makes it do that. Denigrating the action is like believing that that cause cannot produce that result because the cause has ceased at the time of the result, etc., and believing that the cause has no ability to act. In short, all causes and results are momentary, and the previous moment does not exist at the time of the later moment. In that single moment of its own existence, there is no other effort or action called producing the result, but because there is no autonomy not to produce the result when the causes are assembled, it is established as cause and result. Although the moment of the cause has no effort to want to produce the result, it does not have the ability to produce it.
