The power of earth! Similarly, the thought that the cause of the vessel and essence world is "I" is abandoned by those skilled in the elements. Because all external and internal dharmas are included in the eighteen elements, and these elements each have the power to perform their own functions, or rather, they have the function of holding their respective seeds. Therefore, from these respective causes, the vessel and essence world arises, and the "I" is not a cause at all, it should be known as such. The idea that "I" am the enjoyer or eater of the realm is abandoned by those skilled in the sense bases. Because all dharmas are contained in these twelve sense bases, and there is nothing else besides them. It is only that the six internal sense bases enjoy the six external sense bases that are to be enjoyed, and there is no other eater besides this, it should be understood as such. The idea that "I" am the doer of all things is abandoned by those skilled in dependent origination. Because seeing that all dharmas arise involuntarily when their respective causes and conditions of dependent origination come together, and they never arise when they do not come together, it is understood that "I" have no action at all. The idea that "I" am the one who dominates everything and has autonomy is abandoned by those skilled in what is and is not. Because seeing that all these dharmas appear in various ways, such as existence and non-existence, is and is not, due to their respective places and non-places, but "I" cannot autonomously dominate anything, it should be understood as such. The idea that "I" am the master or leader, that is, the meaning of having a dominant function among all things, is abandoned by those skilled in the faculties. Because in dominating the dharmas of defilement and purification, there are only these twenty-two faculties, and there is no need for other dominators besides them, and they cannot be found. The idea that "I" am constant, unchanging and unmoving, is abandoned by those skilled in time. Because the three times are established based on the arising and ceasing of things, and these three times cannot be regarded as one because of their different states. Moreover, for existing things, it is impossible not to have the arising and ceasing and the changes of the three times. The idea that "I" am the place or basis of universal defilement and complete purification is abandoned by those skilled in the truths. Because knowing that the true basis of defilement and purification is the relationship between cause and effect, it is understood that there is no basis for defilement and purification other than this, nor is there an enjoyer. The idea that "I" am a yogi...

Because those skilled in vehicles abandon this view, for from practicing the paths of the three vehicles, no other object is seen by yogis or those possessing meditation other than the appearance of their respective qualities. To view that "self" as having the distinction of being previously not liberated but later liberated is abandoned by those skilled in conditioned and unconditioned phenomena. The exhaustion of conditioned defilements is called individual cessation, and unconditioned phenomena are called nirvana. Other than these, no other impure or purified "self" is seen by valid cognition. If such a "self" existed, there would be logical obstacles to liberation. Therefore, regarding these ten aggregates, etc., the unskilled fixate on permanence, oneness, independence, etc., and view them as "self." If one ascertains the nature of these objects of view, these knowable things, as they are, with the wisdom that discriminates phenomena, one will be naturally liberated from all wrong views. The second part includes: how the ten places are summarized into the three natures, and how to become skilled in each place individually. The first part, explained through "imputation," etc. If we are to explain how these ten places to be mastered are summarized into the three natures, then, because of the appearance and clinging to these things as dualistic, the parts that are discriminated through imputation are the imputed nature; all these things are merely the nature of discrimination, and from the point of view of meaning, are the dependent nature; all these things are established as the nature of two-emptiness, and from the point of view of meaning, there is also the thoroughly established nature. Therefore, the aggregates, etc., can be summarized into these three natures. For example, clinging to form as an external object and expressing it is the imputed nature of form. Merely consciousness appearing as discriminated form is the dependent nature of form. The nature of form, which is two-emptiness, is the thoroughly established nature of form. Therefore, it is permissible to distinguish the imputed, etc., as the distinctions of form. Similarly, feeling, perception, etc., and the remaining parts such as realms, sources, etc., should be understood by analogy. The second part is a detailed explanation. Among the ten places mentioned above, first, mastering the aggregates: first explained through "initially," etc. What is the first of the ten places to be mastered—the aggregates? Accumulation
