Since the luminous nature of mind, which has the function of manifestation, exists together [with phenomena], delusion and samsara arise from that cause. Now, one might wonder, since it has co-emerged from beginningless time, is it still impossible to abandon? That is not the case, because the two, grasper and grasped, are not fully established, but rather extremely established. Therefore, if one understands and meditates in this way, one will directly see it. Thus, this explains the reason for establishing entry into non-duality. Second, the detailed explanation of dharmata is divided into two parts: a brief indication by verses and a detailed explanation of the meaning of the verses. First, entering dharmata through six aspects is unsurpassed, because if one understands these six meanings, one will easily understand all pure dharmas. What are they? It is to know the characteristics of dharmata, and that which becomes the place or basis of its birth. Or, the basis of whatever object that dharmata constantly abides in, and ascertaining it, directly touching the meaning of dharmata, again and again remembering it, and entering into the nature of dharmata, approaching or completely accomplishing perfection, there are six ways. Second, according to the meaning of the verses, these six meanings are explained separately. First, what is the characteristic of dharmata's purity? As indicated above in the condensed teaching in the sutras, one should know how the absence of the four, suchness and grasper, etc., is indicated. Second, the place is said to be all knowable dharmas encompassed by all that is to be expressed purely, and all sutras encompassed by the twelve branches of the scriptures that are to be expressed. Why? Because on all dharmas, one establishes the manner of acceptance and rejection, etc., in conventional terms, and in ultimate terms, one establishes non-apprehension, thereby attaining nirvana, and by engaging in hearing and thinking about the scriptures, one will not be confused about the way to practice the path. Third, what is called "ascertaining that meaning" is explained as all the paths of application gathered by relying on the intention of the Mahayana sutras and properly applying the mind. Why is it called ascertainment? Because in the accumulation and application stages, the four meanings of the sutras

Therefore, it is said that by contemplating through the three doors of wisdom, one ascertains or recognizes the meaning of the nature of reality. The fourth is called "wisdom," because from the eye of the wisdom that possesses an object, one obtains the correct view that transcends the world. Not only does one obtain the general meaning through the path of seeing, but in meditative equipoise, one directly perceives the suchness of reality, purified of the stains to be abandoned by seeing, and in subsequent attainment, one experiences it through the correct view. The fifth is "recollection," because previously, through individual self-awareness, one has already understood the meaning of directly seeing the nature of reality. Moreover, in the context of the path of cultivation, one repeatedly remembers b and understands, and all that is included in the aspects of enlightenment is spoken of in this way. The path of cultivation is cultivated in order to eliminate the stains to be abandoned through cultivation. Sixth, there are two aspects: identifying the nature of the ultimate transformation of the basis, and elaborating on its special qualities. First, the suchness of the nature of all phenomena, approaching its own nature, is when that suchness is without adventitious stains, all places and appearances become the same, and all phenomena appear only as suchness. Moreover, at that time, the transformation of the basis is established as complete. Although the transformation of the basis exists from the first ground, here on this ultimate ground, the ultimate transformation of the basis is accomplished. This is what is said. Second, there are two parts: a brief indication and a detailed explanation. First, entering the transformation of the basis through understanding and practice in ten ways is unsurpassed, because through these ten ways, one understands the meaning of the transformation of the basis as it is, and through practicing it, one obtains the ultimate result. What are these ten ways? They are entering into the nature or essence, the thing or substance, the person, the difference, the necessity, its place or basis, attention a, conjunction, the faults of not having it, and the benefits of having it. Second, corresponding to the order of the brief indication, there are ten detailed explanations. First, entering into its nature or essence is the meaning of the adventitious stains and the suchness appearing and not appearing in sequence.
