Etc. Moreover, if there is a dharma superior to the supreme dharma of nirvana, that too is like an illusion or a dream. Like the meaning of such scriptures, even when analyzed with reason, it is suitable as the dharma-nature of the mind due to the essence of the Tathagatagarbha being emptiness. It pervades all realms, is constant for as long as it exists, is inconceivable, and all qualities appear without distinction. If its own nature is not empty and it is established as true, it cannot possibly be suitable as the dharma-nature of other dharmas, etc., and it cannot be the result established by the valid cognition that examines the ultimate truth. Establishing one truly established thing as the result of examining all dharmas as devoid of truth is like darkness arising from light, which is impossible. Even the valid cognition that examines conventionalities does not establish true establishment. Even if it is established as true in its presence, that alone cannot make the dharma non-empty, because it cannot be established in any way. For something that cannot be established by the two valid cognitions, the effort to establish it by following the flower in the sky is just a meaningless labor. Secondly, those who do not understand the realm of the union of appearance and emptiness, holding the mere negation of nominal ultimate truth as lineage, dharmadhatu, and emptiness, and establishing contradictions in the treatises that speak of inherent qualities, is extremely unreasonable. As the Sutra of the Samadhi of the Wisdom Handprint says: "Not desiring dharma, but seeking attainment, not bound, but learning bodhi." Some speakers will appear in the future, delighting in speech, and saying that all is empty. And: "Emptiness is unborn, unmade by anyone, unseen in the future, not moving. If we have well learned the target of emptiness, those who clamor are thieves of the dharma." And: "Those who conceive of non-existent dharmas, all children are bound by agitation." Also, the Compendium says: "Even if a Bodhisattva knows that this aggregate is empty, he still engages in signs and does not believe in the unborn place." Also, the King of Samadhi Sutra says: "Existing and non-existing, both are extremes. Pure and impure, this is also an extreme. Therefore, having abandoned both extremes, the wise should not dwell in the middle either." Also, the Sutra Benefiting Angulimala

It is said in the Sutra: Alas! There are two kinds of people in the world who destroy the Holy Dharma, namely, those who are extremely attached to the view of emptiness, and those who assert self in the world. These two destroy the Holy Dharma and overturn the Holy Dharma. It is also said that emptiness is the antidote to all views. If one clings to emptiness as real or unreal, it will become an incurable view. Whether empty or not empty, it does not go beyond the object of focus. The sutras and treatises repeatedly say that all of this must be abandoned. Even if analyzed with reason, merely cutting off the non-affirming negation of true establishment is only a fabrication with the discriminating mind that clings to the object to be negated. It has not entered the reality of being free from addition and subtraction. Because it is easy to understand, there is no need to say more here. Although merely the non-affirming negation aspect of true emptiness is not the nature of the Dharmadhatu and reality, it is appropriate for beginners to regard it as the gateway to entering reality. The Sutra says: Manjushri, if a Bodhisattva offers whatever is needed to the Three Jewels for a thousand years in the heavenly realms, it is not as good as another Bodhisattva who, even for a finger-snap, contemplates that all compounded things are impermanent, all compounded things are suffering, all compounded things are empty, and all compounded things are selfless. The merit accumulated in this way is immeasurable and boundless. It is just as the Sutra says. Third, if one thinks that the wisdom of omniscient knowledge, which is the Tathagatagarbha nature of luminosity manifested like a cloudless sky, is permanent or impermanent, some sutras say that omniscient knowledge is permanent, and some say that omniscient knowledge is impermanent, but the meaning is this: In order to comply with the thoughts of other disciples who have not yet been completely tamed, the scriptures say that omniscient knowledge is impermanent. In terms of reason, it is said in the Commentary on Valid Cognition: Measurement of permanence is not reasonable, because it is the energy to know reality. The nature of what is known is impermanent, therefore it must also be impermanent. This means that omniscient knowledge arises from the causes of the path, such as generating the mind of enlightenment and familiarizing oneself with emptiness. It is unreasonable for it to arise without a cause. Moreover, because omniscient knowledge is the direct measure of all dharmas, if it is a measure, that is, a non-deceptive wisdom, then it cannot be permanent.
