Zhi. How a place becomes a sacred land. The Tathagatagarbha with defilements, that is, when it resides in the womb of the defiled realm, and the realm without defilements, free from sudden defilements, the Dharmakaya of the Tathagata, which has become a completely pure place. The stainless Bodhi or Buddha, that is, its qualities such as the ten powers, and the deeds of the Victorious One, benefiting others with the power of these qualities. Such four places of cause and condition, from which the three jewels as the fruit, which are the nature of virtue, arise, this situation is only the realm of the Buddhas who possess the ultimate wisdom that directly sees the ultimate truth of Dharma nature. These are shown to be inconceivable. The reason why the three jewels arise and are accomplished as the fruit. The meaning of the four places of cause and condition is only the realm of the Buddhas who see everything, that is, the Tathagatagarbha, these four aspects, in order, with the four causes, are inconceivable to ordinary beings. The reasons for this are explained in detail. First, the realm is pure by nature, and the sudden defilements and afflictions, existing at the same time, seem contradictory. Bodhi, although from the beginning there has been no affliction at all, but because of the habituation of the path, it also appears as newly pure. Powers and other qualities, even in the time of ordinary beings, exist as undifferentiated dharmas, but are not manifest. The deeds of the Buddha, entering the realm of those to be tamed, are naturally accomplished, but one does not think "I should do this" etc., without conceptualization, so it is inconceivable. The nature of cause and condition is established, what is to be realized is the realm, and the nature of realizing it is Bodhi, and its branch is qualities, and other activities that also cause realization. It should be understood in order, that is, the first place, the realm is the cause of purification, and the latter three are the conditions of purification. Second, the four natures of each. What is to be realized is the meaning of Dharmadhatu. The nature of realization is the meaning of Bodhi. The branch of realization is the meaning of qualities. What causes realization is the meaning of activity. The meaning of Dharmadhatu to be realized has eight aspects. The way Dharmadhatu pervades everything, one, the three that teach about this.

In my opinion, sometimes the essence of the Dharmadhatu Tathagatagarbha is clarified through the gate of teaching emptiness, and sometimes the nature of the Tathagatagarbha is clarified from the aspect of teaching that qualities such as power are inherently complete. Although these two need to be united without obstruction, because of the failure to deeply believe in the profound point that is far more profound than the inseparability of the two truths, therefore, regarding the Tathagatagarbha, it is believed that its essence is non-empty, truly existent, and permanent, and that the qualities of body and wisdom are inseparable and inherently complete are non-existent, which is a nihilistic emptiness. Both of these views cannot find a reason to establish, but see a reason to refute. However, regarding the Tathagatagarbha, which is empty in essence and inherently complete in nature and qualities, existing in the realm of sentient beings, it is seen that there is no reason to refute it, and there is a correct reason to establish it. What is it? It is the three reasons such as the complete Buddha body. Regarding this, the former people only regard the wisdom Dharmakaya as pervading all places, and only regard Suchness as a simple emptiness as similar to the lineage, or only explain that having the lineage is being able to become a Buddha, therefore, regarding the key points of this treatise, few people can clearly state it without confusion. Regarding this, merely the Dharmakaya pervading all places cannot establish the nature of the lineage, and merely the emptiness in name has no meaning of the lineage. If it is believed that the nature of the indivisibility of luminosity and emptiness is the lineage, then if it is believed to be the unchanging, unconditioned wisdom that is opposed to the discriminating consciousness and wisdom, that is acceptable, otherwise it will become a fault of being useless. If it is believed that the unchanging Dharmadhatu is the Buddha's lineage, then first it should be recognized that the so-called Dharmadhatu is established on the meaning of the Great Play-free Union of the Two Truths of Ultimate Truth, which is immeasurable, and does not abide in either extreme, which is the meaning of the Middle Way, and its essence should be recognized. If it is not recognized, and it is only regarded as the ultimate truth in name, then just like seeing a group of monkeys in the forest, but mistaking them for the gods of the Thirty-Three Heavens, grasping what is not the Dharmadhatu as the Dharmadhatu, and believing that it is the Buddha's lineage, and believing that it is the cause of the Svabhavikakaya, etc., all establishments are said to be similar. Therefore, for the realm of the inseparability of the two truths and freedom from elaboration, each should be recognized by one's own wisdom, which is called the Dharmadhatu of self-nature purity and emptiness, which is the nature of the Buddha's lineage.
