Even the Buddhas, without any effort, from the unborn and unceasing Dharmakaya, without moving, until the existence of samsara, show the appearance of the body, etc., and the activities are spontaneously accomplished. There are two ways in which they are similar but also superior: brief explanation and detailed explanation. Brief explanation: These examples that symbolize the activities of the Buddha are summarized, and the meaning is what will be explained. The order of the examples also shows this. How does it show? Because it first states what the previous examples cannot symbolize, and then in the later examples, it clarifies what the previous examples could not symbolize, and gradually explains by abandoning the parts where the examples and meanings do not match. Detailed explanation: What is that? The Buddha is like the image of Indra showing the appearance of the body. However, the image of Indra does not have the sound of teaching the Dharma, so it is different from the Buddha and cannot symbolize the Buddha, so it is superior. In this way, from the aspect of having the sound of teaching the Dharma, it is like the drum of the gods proclaiming the four seals of the Dharma. However, the drum of the gods is only temporary and does not pervade all places such as underground and function, so it is different from the Buddha. From the aspect of functioning pervading all places, it is like a great cloud. However, although the great cloud can ripen crops, etc., it does not have real meaning and cannot abandon the seeds of attachment, etc., so it is different from the Buddha. From the aspect of abandoning afflictions such as attachment to desires, it is like the Great Brahma. However, Brahma only temporarily gives benefit to make it ripen, and cannot make people permanently ripen in the peaceful place of Nirvana, so it is different from the Buddha. From the aspect of permanently ripening the crops of those to be tamed, it is like the rays of the sun permanently ripening the crops. However, the sun only ripens the crops and occasionally dispels darkness and reveals light, but it does not permanently dispel the darkness of ignorance, so it is different from the Buddha. From the aspect of permanently dispelling darkness, the wish-fulfilling jewel permanently dispels darkness day and night. However, jewels are also possessed by animals such as nagas, and obtaining or appearing is not difficult, so it is different from the Buddha. From the aspect of being difficult to obtain, it is like the sound and image inside and outside

Just as it cannot be found anywhere. Sound and images are not produced by causes and conditions, so they are different from it, because it is self-born and uncompounded. In terms of being uncompounded, it is similar to space, which is not produced by causes and conditions. However, space is not the basis or support of virtue, so it is also different from it. Because it is the place or basis upon which all the perfections of beings, both mundane and supramundane, rely, it is similar to the great mandala of the earth, which supports all things. This is because, relying on the attainment of great Bodhi by the Buddhas, the perfect path of the supramundane—the three vehicles—arises. Relying on it, the cause of mundane perfections, the ten virtuous paths of action of the desire realm, the four concentrations of the form realm, the four immeasurables, and the cause of the perfections of the formless realm, the formless absorptions, arise. The section of the fourth chapter is complete. The Treatise on the Sublime Continuum of the Great Vehicle, on the nature of the lineage of the Three Jewels, From the Differentiation, the chapter on the activity of the Tathagatas, which is the fourth. The benefits of faith in the four places, both, are taught in a supremely praised manner. That nature is explained by other names. There are two ways to teach by praising. The difficulty of realizing the four places, and the Buddha-nature with defilements, the Suchness, and that nature, the Bodhi of the Buddha, which is extremely purified by adventitious defilements, and the qualities such as the powers of the Buddha's Dharma, and the activity of the Buddha. These four vajra places, even great Bodhisattvas, beings who have purified most of the adventitious defilements, cannot truly contemplate, let alone others? Therefore, these four places are only the realm of activity of the Buddhas, the perfect guides. The way to obtain the benefits of that realization. There are two ways to obtain benefits. The goodness of skillful means is superior to others, the reason for obtaining supreme wisdom. After briefly explaining how it is superior to others, however, relying on the scriptures, any intelligent person who has faith in those four Buddha-fields, he is capable of becoming a vessel in which the collection of the Buddha's qualities abides, that is,
