The power of knowing all the distinctions of existence and non-existence with the clairvoyance of the divine eye, and the knowledge of how to pacify the afflictions of oneself and others by teaching the Dharma to exhaust defilements, and the knowledge of how defilements are exhausted. Thus, the powers of knowledge are tenfold. To be determined by symbolic examples. Cause and effect, place and non-place, the ripening of karma, the lineage or realm of those to be tamed, the various inclinations of beings, the various paths of all migrations, the distinctions between samadhi and other afflictions and purifications, the collection of faculties such as faith, the recollection of past lives of oneself and others, the observation of death and birth with the divine eye, and the powers of knowing the exhaustion of defilements of oneself and others, because they do not understand their respective opposing sides, therefore, for the sake of penetrating, destroying, and cutting off the three obscurations of knowable objects, samadhi, and habitual tendencies, which are like strong armor, stable walls, and dense forests, respectively, these ten powers of knowledge, whichever they may be, are unimpeded in destroying their respective opposing sides, and nothing can penetrate them, just like a diamond. Secondly, fearlessness is also twofold. Identifying the essence of meaning. Essence and function are two. The essence is that previously, with an equal mind and without stinginess, teaching the Dharma, thereby promising that one's own perfect enlightenment will be manifested through the manner of directly realizing all phenomena as they are and as many as they are, this is fearlessness. Previously, not relying on the Dharma that interrupts, thereby the obstacles to liberation, such as afflictions like attachment and aversion, need to be eliminated, and one has fearlessness in eliminating them. Previously, having entered with faith in white Dharma, thereby instructing on the definitive path of liberation, this is fearlessness. Previously, teaching the Dharma without arrogance, thereby promising to attain the cessation of the exhaustion of what should be abandoned, thus promising the perfection of self-benefit, abandonment, and realization, and for the benefit of others, showing the path and the obstacles to the path. Arrogant ascetics, Brahmins, gods, demons, Brahma, etc., due to asceticism, lineage, enjoyment, ability, and non-attachment, no one has seen any sign of refuting in accordance with the Dharma, physical discomfort, verbal awkwardness,

Because the mind is without fear, vows are made in the excellent lion's seat. The lion's roar is proclaimed within the retinue. There are four kinds of fearlessness in turning the wheel of Dharma in the realm of Brahma. Its function is: for oneself and for the sake of others, based on knowable things, all aspects such as suffering, one acknowledges that one knows oneself. And to teach the Dharma in order to make it known to others. All things to be abandoned, from the origin of afflictions, etc., one has abandoned oneself. And to teach the Dharma of obstacles to be abandoned in order to make others abandon them. One has already practiced all paths to be taught. And to show the path in order to make others practice. One acknowledges that one has attained the supreme cessation to be attained, which is extremely stainless and pure, possessing both. And to teach the Dharma of cessation of outflows in order to make others attain it as well. Thus, one has realized it oneself. And for the sake of others, one speaks the four truths truthfully. Therefore, the Sugata Buddha is unimpeded in any retinue. This should be ascertained by example. Just as the lion, the king of beasts, always dwells in the depths of the dense forest, yet is fearless and has no fear of other beasts, and walks leisurely. Similarly, in gatherings of large and numerous retinues, the Lion of the Able One, the lion among men, also abides well without fear because he himself is supreme, is independent and without reliance on others, his mind is always in equipoise, possessing the quality of steadfastness, and he has abandoned even the subtlest things to be abandoned, thus possessing strength. The eighteen unshared qualities are divided into two: the teaching of the actual meaning and the combination with examples. The teaching of the actual meaning itself is divided into two: the eighteen individual distinctions, and the restatement of their function and how they are attained. The eighteen distinctions are further divided into two: explaining in detail by dividing them, and indicating other aspects in summary. The detailed explanation is divided into four sections: first, the six summarized by conduct. For sentient beings who have previously lost their way, showing them the correct path, etc., being accustomed to jumping and running, etc., there is no confusion in the body instigated by the three poisons, this is one of the unshared qualities of the body. Previously, there was no quarrel, having abandoned false speech and frivolous talk, etc., by quarrels and jokes, etc., by afflictions.
