The true Buddha is the one who realizes that he exists inseparable from qualities, and who is thoroughly distinguished by the Dharma that possesses the two purities of being free from adventitious defilements. He is characterized by wisdom and abandonment, i.e., the two aspects of abandonment and realization, like the sun which is naturally luminous and the sky which is naturally pure. Therefore, the one who has perfected abandonment and realization is called Buddha. This distinction is also twofold: the distinction of self-luminous nature, and the stainless sphere. The self-luminous nature of self-purity is not newly created by causes and conditions, and because it is inseparable from it, it has the characteristic of entering. The number of qualities exceeds the dust of the Ganges River, so all the qualities of the Buddha, such as the powers, are naturally and spontaneously present from the beginning. The commentary states that all the qualities of the Buddha are fully possessed. Dolpopa said: The distinction is the freedom from adventitious defilements. The purity of freedom from adventitious defilements is because the nature of defilements is not truly established, and because it pervades all impure states, and because the adventitious can be abandoned, therefore the two obscurations of afflictions and knowledge are said to obscure like clouds in the state of sentient beings, and thus one obtains both purity and purity. There is no difference between the cause and the meaning of attainment. Freedom from the two obscurations of affliction and knowledge, which are obstacles to liberation and omniscience, i.e., the cause of freeing oneself from them, is the two wisdoms, i.e., meditative non-discrimination and its subsequent attainment, i.e., the discrimination of all knowable objects, which is considered to be the two wisdoms. The meaning of the fruit of freedom from defilements is twofold: the sutra shows the example of stainlessness, and liberation from the affliction of desire, like a beautiful lake with water free from turbid impurities, covered with gradually blooming lotuses, and liberation from hatred, like the full moon freed from the mouth of Rahu, possessing the light of stainless love, and like the sun freed from the affliction of cloud-like ignorance, because it possesses the two wisdoms and stainless qualities, it possesses the light, that is the Buddha. The Muni (Shakyamuni Buddha) who is liberated from the evil lotus.

Like the Buddha's body, the supreme of beings; like honey free from bees; like the essence of fruit free from chaff; like precious gold freed from mud; like a treasure emerging from the earth; like a fruit-laden tree born from a seed; and like the Sugata's body made of immaculate jewels, free from tattered clothes; like a lord of the earth freed from the womb; like a golden statue freed from slag, the Victorious One is the one who has directly realized the realm of reality. To explain in detail, there are three: two bodies arise from two wisdoms. A clear pool of water adorned with lotuses, and so forth, like the moon freed from Rahu and the sun freed from clouds, attachment arises for pleasant objects, and so forth, hatred arises for unpleasant objects, and ignorance arises for neutral objects, it is liberation and purification from the adventitious stains of the three poisons of afflictions. Although there are many causes, if we summarize the main point, it is said to be the result of being free from the obscurations of afflictions through the wisdom of equipoise without discrimination. The basis of perfect realization, emptiness and luminosity, the Buddha's body endowed with all perfections, is definitely attained, that is the result of abandoning the obscurations of knowledge through the wisdom of discriminating knowable objects from subsequent attainment, thus it is taught. By abandoning the three poisons, two benefits are accomplished. For the sake of completely abandoning the impurities or dust of attachment and clinging to the three realms of one's own mind-stream; for sentient beings to be tamed, like lotuses, the meditative concentration that is well pacified by teaching the Dharma is like water, for the sake of flowing and moistening calm and insight, therefore the Buddha is like a lotus pond filled with pure water, the same as the Dharma. By being liberated from the unpleasant objects of one's own mind-stream, hatred and ferocity like Rahu, because the light of great compassion and love pervades sentient beings, therefore the Buddha is like the immaculate full moon. By being liberated from the ignorance of the three realms of one's own mind-stream, ignorance like clouds, for the sentient beings to be tamed, according to their respective capacities, the light of wisdom illuminates the unknowing.
