Just as all are cut off, seeing that the essence of complete enlightenment, obscured by the sheath of defilements such as attachment and hatred, abides in all beings. The powerful sage, endowed with great compassion, also engages in the activity of destroying the obscurations of the realm, just like the example of removing petals. The analogy of bees and honey combines meaning. Example: Just as honey, rich in flavor and essence, surrounded and guarded by a swarm of bees, is seen by a person skilled in discerning honey, who seeks that honey, to be in the midst of the bees, and by various means such as smoking, separates that honey from all the swarms of bees, and thus obtains the honey. Meaning: The great sage, the Buddha, with the eye of directly knowing all aspects of knowledge, sees the realm, which is like honey, with the wisdom of self-awareness, and thus completely abandons the obscurations of that realm, which are like bees, along with their seeds. Combination: Just as honey, rich in flavor, is obscured by hundreds of thousands of beings, and a person seeking honey sees it, dispels the bees, and thus uses the honey for medicine and food as desired, so too, the uncontaminated self-aware wisdom that all sentient beings possess is like the essence of honey, and the victorious one who is skilled in destroying the obscurations that are like bees of affliction is like a person skilled in taking honey. The analogy of husk and essence combines meaning. Example: Just as the essence of grains such as rice, which has an outer husk, cannot be enjoyed by people because of the husk. Those who seek food and other necessities of life take the grain from the husk. Meaning: Just like the example, all sentient beings possess the victorious one mixed with the defilements of affliction, that is, the realm of the Tathagatagarbha, and as long as it is not liberated from the temporary state of being mixed with the defilements of affliction, the inconceivable activities of the victorious Tathagata, the desire realm, the form realm, the formless realm...

It does not show or manifestly exist in three states. Analogy: Just as the essence of grains such as rice, buckwheat, barley, etc., those grains with husks that have not emerged from their respective shells, because the work of removing them from the shells, etc., has not been properly completed, they do not become delicious for people to consume. Similarly, the Tathagatagarbha, the lord of Dharma, which beings possess, that body or form that has not been liberated from the sheath of afflictions, will also not become the nature of bestowing the taste of joy of the supreme Dharma to beings threatened by the hunger of afflictions. The analogy and meaning of gold in impurity are combined. Analogy: Just as when walking back and forth on the road, a lump of gold that someone possesses falls into a dirty and rotten place, that excellent gold, which is not destroyed by rot, etc., remains in that place as it was before for many hundreds of years, and that gold, the gods with pure divine eyes see that it exists there, and say to someone: 'Take this treasure that is here, which is superior to ordinary jewels, clear away the mud, etc., and use it to make jewels, or make images and ornaments, etc., which are suitable for making.' Meaning: Likewise, the Thubpa, that is, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, seeing the qualities of the dhatu possessed by beings who are immersed in afflictions like impurity, in order to purify those muds of afflictions, causes the rain of the supreme Dharma, like water, to fall upon beings. Analogy: Just as the gold that has fallen into the impure, dirty, and rotten place is seen by the gods, and in order to purify that gold completely from the mud, they earnestly show that extremely beautiful gold to people. Similarly, the Victorious One, seeing the jewel of the Tathagatagarbha, which is like gold, fallen into the great impurity of afflictions, in order to purify those dhatus, taught the Dharma to sentient beings. The analogy and meaning of treasure in the earth are combined. Analogy: Just as in the underground of the house of a poor person threatened by hunger and poverty, there exists an inexhaustible treasure that produces everything desired, but that person does not know that the treasure exists, and the treasure itself also
