The instruction to practice the path through the union of the two truths, without fearing emptiness by existing in conventionality and not clinging in ultimate reality, is: Shariputra, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Prajnaparamita, even having become a Bodhisattva, he does not truly see a Bodhisattva. This is the instruction to teach non-attachment to the three circles, and the nature of practice is for the combination of the six paramitas, what is done is for the benefit of all sentient beings, and realization leads to the attainment of the Dharmakaya, therefore it is superior to the practice of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. Here, for the two truths, is the basis of distinction merely the absence of inherent existence? Or merely returning from non-truth? The distinctions are the two, conventional truth and ultimate truth. Among conventional truths, there are the two, the valid conventional truth where the six senses appear in an undamaged realm, and the false conventional truth where appearances are disturbed by damage, such as dizziness and hairnets appearing before the eyes. Among ultimate truths, there are the relative ultimate truth, which merely negates birth etc., but is not liberated from the elaboration of non-birth, and the absolute ultimate truth, which is liberated from all elaborations of birth and non-birth. The definitions are: a phenomenon that does not transcend the object of mind, and cannot be examined by correct reasoning, is conventional truth; the nature of phenomena that transcends mind, is free from elaboration, and is a peaceful object of focus, is ultimate truth. Therefore, all that appears as the two, object and subject, with grasping and being grasped, is conventional truth; the suchness free from elaboration, experienced in the manner where the wisdom of the noble ones causes the appearance of duality to subside, is ultimate truth. Therefore, the two truths that are expressed by the speaker with words, and made the object of hearing and thought by the listener, can be separately established as the two truths in relation to the mind that is the subject; but in relation to the ultimate nature of the Samadhi of the noble ones, both become conventional truths, therefore they should be distinguished. If the two truths are different in ultimate reality, then the ultimate would become not the nature of appearing phenomena, the realization of the ultimate would not sever the clinging to the truth of appearances, the suchness not found by conventional reasoning would become not ultimate, and both defilement and purification would simultaneously be established in the continuum of one person, and in conventionality, it is one.

If that is the case, then it would follow that seeing the conventional truth would lead to seeing the ultimate truth, and just as clinging to the conventional truth increases afflictions, clinging to the ultimate truth would also increase afflictions, and it would follow that the ultimate truth cannot be sought separately from the conventional truth, and just as the conventional truth has various elaborations, the ultimate truth would also become like that. Therefore, in the ultimate truth, one does not accept any characteristics of elaborations of one and different in any way, but in name, in terms of nominal ultimate truth, the essence is one, but the reverse is different; in terms of non-nominal ultimate truth, the difference is only the negation of one. Because the two truths are inseparable in meaning from any aspect, there is no difference in reality, but in relation to the mind, it is like the mind distinguishes the east and west directions in the unconditioned space. Thus, the two truths have been explained from the point of view of what needs to be determined. Secondly, from the point of view of what needs to be adopted and abandoned, the four noble truths are taught: For those who seek liberation, the number of the four noble truths is fixed from the point of view of what needs to be adopted and abandoned. The order is: according to the order of realizing the path, just as a patient takes medicine, suffering should be known, the origin should be abandoned, cessation should be attained, and the path should be cultivated. The explanation of the terms is: Just as the Tathagata said that impermanence is true, so the noble ones see it as true, so it is called truth. The nature is: all the impure vessel and essence that arise from the power of karma and afflictions, the contaminated resultant parts are the truth of suffering, the characteristics are the four aspects of momentary impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness. These contaminated aggregates of samsara are not produced without cause, nor are they produced from other non-causes, but they are produced from the cause of karma and afflictions, from this point of view, it is the origin. It has the four aspects of the cause of arising in samsara, arising, increasing, and condition. Through the power of the causal path, suchness is upward, the cause and effect of samsara will never arise, the state of cutting off the continuity, the constant and peaceful cessation is the truth of cessation. It has the nature of cessation, peace, excellence, and definite departure, which is nirvana. The path by which knowledge and vision can be manifested, the five paths are the truth of the path. It has the four aspects of the right path, reason, practice, and departure, the four noble truths have sixteen aspects.
