Diligently meditate, 14 and gain unwavering conviction in one's own ground, that is, the three wisdoms from which there is no turning back. For the three grounds of basis, path, and result, one remains unshaken by demons and the like. 15 Due to the firmness of bodhicitta, one is solely devoted to omniscient wisdom, and due to realizing emptiness, one even gives up one's life for the sake of teaching and studying the Dharma that reveals omniscient wisdom and so on, which are the four moments of the path 16. Such sixteen moments are the result of non-attachment to the apprehended and the apprehender, the samadhi itself, and the conformity of object and aspect. Those worldly ones gathered by the subsequent mind arising from samadhi, that is, the sixteen expressions of body and speech that become the object of others' conceptual thoughts, are the signs of non-retrogression for those wise bodhisattvas who abide on the path of seeing. In this case, although the sixteen signs of the extensive and abbreviated versions of the Mother Sutra are said to be different, they are the same in meaning. Third, regarding the path of meditation, there is the path of meditation as the basis, and the two characteristics as qualities. First, regarding the path of meditation, there is the nature of the path of meditation, the definition, and its three divisions. First, the sutra says: The place where the bodhisattva abides and perfects all the Buddha's teachings is profound, that is, emptiness, signlessness, and so on are taught. The path of meditation is profound because it has not found the depths or place by means of the characteristic as the object. What is called profound is emptiness, 1 and the word "etc." of etc., which generates the signlessness of the mind that focuses on it, 2 wishlessness, 3 non-action, 4 the object-possessing non-arising that depends on it, 5 non-cessation, 6 detachment from attachment, 7 originally having passed beyond sorrow, 8 extreme peace, 9 suchness, 10 the correct limit, 11 the wisdom of the path of meditation that possesses direct realization is also profound. What is the reason? Because these eleven, such as emptiness, do not have form, etc., so they can be bound, and because form, etc., are not other than emptiness, etc., so they are liberated from the extreme of slander, because it is the nature of the Dharmadhatu. Second, the definition is: The limb that determines, that is, the stage of the path of joining, and the path of seeing the nature of reality, and the three paths of familiarizing oneself with meditation, respectively.

Cutting off superimpositions on suchness, repeatedly thinking or meditating, and directly seeing that suchness, and after realization, constantly familiarizing oneself, becoming more and more profound than before, thereby most definitely realizing. Therefore, this realization is established as profound, because it is the path of cultivation after seeing. The sutra says: One should learn in this way, one should accomplish in this way, and so on. Or the three of seeing and so on, that is, the three of hearing, thinking, and meditating, or the wisdom arising from the preliminary, main, and subsequent practices of samadhi, or repeatedly thinking with the four types of rational observation, and repeatedly seeing with the nine minds of calm abiding, and repeatedly and definitely realizing with the four types of insight. In the stage of determination, realizing in the manner of general meaning. In the path of seeing, knowing the nature. One can know that what has been familiarized before in the path of cultivation becomes more and more profound. The third part is divided into two: actual differences and refuting disputes about the differences. First, the path of cultivation is not momentary like the path of seeing, but continuous because of constant familiarization. In the nine grounds of the three realms, for the three types of what is to be abandoned, great, medium, and small, each is divided into three, totaling nine. Therefore, although the wisdom of the antidote is undifferentiated in the ultimate truth, in the conventional truth, for the small, medium, and large, etc., with the internal subtle differences of the small of the small, etc., the antidote wisdom is distinguished in different ways, therefore establishing the path of cultivation as nine types. In the extensive sutra, taking the great of the great conceptual thoughts to be abandoned as the main focus, it is taught to abandon the small of the small of its antidote, and finally it is said that the small of the small conceptual thoughts are countable, measurable, and limited. And the great of the great of its antidote is taught as countless, immeasurable, and limitless. This is also taking each of the nine paths of cultivation as the main focus, and it is said that the resulting merit is countless, immeasurable, and limitless. Second, the refutation is divided into refutation of the number and refutation of the function. First, if it is said that each path of cultivation has limitless resulting merit, then its cause, the path of cultivation, is also not necessarily nine, because the qualities of the result arise from the realization of abandoning what is to be abandoned, so what is to be abandoned must also be limitless. Since what is to be abandoned is not necessarily nine, then the realization of the antidote is also not necessarily nine. And if it produces limitless results
