Not taking refuge in others, 2. By abandoning the manifestation of non-virtue, one constantly abandons the lower realms and fulfills the aspiration not to be born in unfavorable conditions, thus exhausting the lack of leisure. 3. With compassion focused on the benefit of others, one abides in the ten virtues and strives to establish others in them. 4. By exchanging self and others, one teaches the Dharma to other sentient beings without material possessions, and engages in generosity and other practices for the benefit of others, dedicating them to enlightenment. 5. Since there is no manifest doubt about the profound meaning of the nature of reality, which is free from elaboration, one is solely delighted in the Dharma. 6. Engaging in altruistic conduct, one always speaks gently and possesses the three actions of body, speech, and mind with loving-kindness. 7. Due to the perfection of the practice of diligently pursuing the three trainings, the hindrances to morality—desire for sensual pleasures and malice; the hindrances to wisdom—sleep and drowsiness; the hindrances to samadhi—agitation and regret; and doubt about the truth—are not associated with the five obscurations. 8. By meditating on emptiness, ignorance and the latent tendencies of views are all destroyed by way of subduing them. 9. In the conduct of walking, standing, lying down, and sitting, one is fully endowed with mindfulness and awareness, indicating that one walks without mental confusion by looking ahead about the distance of a yoke. 10. Since one's inner and outer conduct is endowed with purity, one holds completely pure clean robes and so forth. 11. The above eleven are the signs of heat from which one does not regress. Second, the signs of irreversibility for the peak practitioner are: the roots of virtue are far superior to all worldly things, so that eighty thousand kinds of worms do not arise on the body, and the body is completely pure. 12. Due to the pure roots of virtue of pure higher intention, the mind without deceit transcends the minds of hearers and solitary realizers. 13. Not looking to gain, respect, and fame, one takes up wearing robes made of rags, the three robes, felt robes, begging for alms, using one seat, not accepting leftover food, dwelling in monasteries, dwelling under trees, without a roof, dwelling in cemeteries, squatting, and dwelling wherever one is, thus fully taking up the twelve qualities of purification. 14. By practicing the extraordinary six perfections, one's own mindstream is without miserliness and so forth.

Absence of misconduct arising from greed, anger, laziness, and distractions, etc. 15 All dharmas do not deviate from the nature of dharma, therefore all actions do not contradict the nature of dharma, and one proceeds with the yoga of Prajñāpāramitā. 16 Because one takes the suffering of samsara as one's own, one even seeks the suffering of hell for the benefit of other sentient beings, that is, accepting it, and this is the sixth. 17 Third, the signs of irreversible patience are two: because of deep faith in one's own realization, by the power of intelligence that does not rely on others, one cannot be seduced by demons or others into inferior paths. 18 Because one knows that the method of attaining Buddhahood is not mistaken, one realizes that other unattractive things that imitate the path, such as meditating on skeletons, and meditating on samādhi, etc., are demons who closely present it as the ultimate meaning, and thus one transcends the realm of demons, and this is the second. 19 Fourth, the sign of the supreme dharma is: the defilement of attachment in the three spheres is completely purified, without even a speck of impurity, and in order to accomplish the two benefits, all actions are wonderful actions that please the Buddhas. 20 These twenty signs indicate that being in the heat, peak, and patience positions of the path of joining, and the supreme dharma positions above the path of joining, is irreversible from perfect enlightenment. The sutra says: A Bodhisattva who turns back from form should be known as irreversible. And so on. Second, the path of seeing includes a brief explanation and a detailed explanation. First part: A Bodhisattva who abides in the path of seeing, with a medium capacity continuum, is possessed of eight kṣāntis and eight jñānas, that is, sixteen moments of wisdom, which are seized by special skillful means and wisdom, and the special expressions of body and speech guided by them, should be known as the characteristics or signs of an irreversible Bodhisattva. Here, it is said that the sixteen moments of wisdom of the kṣānti-jñāna are the signs of the irreversible path of seeing, which is to attribute the name of the cause to the effect. The wisdom of the path of seeing itself is not so, because the samāhita-jñāna that harms reality cannot appear as a sign of other dharmas. So what is it? It refers to the form that arises from the cause, that is, the wisdom of samāhita, in the effect, that is, the subsequent attainment.
