The worthy one said that cessation attainment is for liberation from the obscurations of meditative absorption. If there is something, the mind cannot function, and even the detachment from the three realms will not produce the first real basis, which is said to be the obscuration of meditative absorption. Second, the mind entering cessation is: the subtlest in the three realms is the peak of existence, and it also focuses on cessation, and enters at the end of making it extremely subtle, because the mind stream must be cut off. Third, when arising, just like throwing, from the pure one of the peak of existence itself and the noble one of the realm of nothingness below, the mind without outflows arises from that cessation. Therefore, the entering mind is only the peak of existence with outflows, and the arising mind is both with and without outflows. Second, the field of activity is: the first three liberations are, with the appearance belonging to the desire realm through meditative absorption, the form aggregate is the object of the undesirable and the desirable. That is also a transformation belonging to the desire realm. The field of activity, that is, the object of those four formless liberations, is: the suffering of the upper and own ground, and the origin and cessation summarized by etc., and the path truth in accordance with the subsequent wisdom, all the upper, lower, and own grounds. Even if it is not mentioned at the root, since those formless liberations may be signless signless meditative absorptions, those non-learning signless meditative absorptions focus on the cessation of neither perception nor non-perception, and the object of the sphere of infinite space is also unconditioned space. It is said that only the third and eighth liberations are manifested by the body and perfected and dwell, because those two are the main ones because they have abandoned all the obscurations of the form and formless liberations, and it is said that they dwell at the edge of the form and formless realms and grounds. However, those two are said to have manifested the complete liberation of the form and formless grounds in sequence, so it is said. Or, the noble ones often dwell in them, so it is said. Second, the overcoming places. There are two types: teaching and explanation. First, again, by perceiving inner form, overcoming the small outer form, and overcoming the large form are two types. Inner formless

With the understanding of "all-pervading," one overcomes the external small and large forms, these are two kinds of overcoming. With the understanding of no form internally, one overcomes the external blue, yellow, white, and red forms, these are four kinds of overcoming. Thus, eight kinds of overcoming abodes are taught. Among them, "large and small" refers to the container and its contents, or coarse and subtle. The first four are antidotes to attachment and aversion to both shape and color. The remaining four are antidotes to attachment to the colors of others and discouragement. Secondly, there are three parts: explaining the first two, explaining the next two, and explaining the remaining four. Firstly, among those eight, the first two overcoming abodes are focused on the essence. What they are antidotes to is like the first liberation, the liberation of contemplating form as form. Secondly, the essence of the third and fourth overcoming abodes. What they are antidotes to. The object of focus is like the second liberation, the liberation of contemplating formlessness as form. Thirdly, other than that, the ground of the four overcoming abodes of color. The essence and so on should be understood as being like the third liberation of ugliness. The difference between liberation and overcoming abode is that the former merely turns away from the object of focus. It does not overcome. The overcoming abode, however, gives rise to aspiration for blue and so on in an instant, or for unpleasant things such as turning blue, as desired. And although one focuses on impure things that are objects of all afflictions, one does not generate afflictions, but focuses on overcoming. The reason why overcoming abode is not explained for formlessness is that if form is overcome, then it is also overcome, so it is not explained. Noble ones overcome by focusing on the suchness and characteristics of form. Ordinary people rely on what is considered attractive and unattractive, One is connected to another. Therefore, they mix forms together and generate aspiration with the thought that ugliness is of one taste, and thus overcome, so it is taught. Some say that focusing on the good and bad of colors without attachment or aversion is overcoming. Some say that everything is mixed together and seen as the nature of impurity as one taste. Thirdly, in the ten all-encompassing spheres, there are teaching and explanation, two parts. Firstly, again, in the sutra it says: All-encompassing spheres: earth, water, fire, wind, blue, yellow, white, red, space, consciousness, that is, continuously and pervasively focusing.
