Thus, it is known what it becomes in that place. Second, however, what is known from aspiration, that object is not only based on afflictions, but all dharmas such as form. In this regard, the Vaibhashikas say that formlessness cannot be known directly, this is the fourth dhyana. Because the upper realm is not the realm of formlessness, this is similar to direct perception, and that is the realm of its own ground and lower ground, it will be declared in this way. However, from the common cause of body and mind being inferior and peaceful, it is said to be born from formlessness, and from having the practice of meditative absorption, it is said that formlessness is born, and having obtained the samadhi of formlessness and having non-regression, it will be born in formlessness, this can be known. It is said to be like farmers estimating fields from grains and estimating grains from fields. According to the views of others, since there is nothing that is not the object of the direct perception of the Buddhas, it is also believed that formlessness is directly known. Third, in the four analytical knowledges, there are two: teaching and explanation. First, how is there no affliction? Just as the person is of unwavering dharma nature, and the basis, continent, and three are the same, the analytical knowledges of dharma, meaning, words, and eloquence are also the same as that. Second, in the detailed explanation, there are two: the determination of the four individually, and the explanation of the characteristics of those. First, there are differences in the objects, grounds, and entities of those. The first three are in order, for names, meanings, and speech, the fault of not understanding cannot be prevented, and they are known without obstruction. Among them, dharma is not the eight branches of the noble path of practice, and the wisdom of the result dharma nirvana, but the wisdom of the collection of names, words, and letters of dharmas, because it is the expression of meaning, so it is the teaching dharma. Meaning is the self-characteristic of dharmas or the wisdom of the supreme dharma nirvana. Words are the wisdom of speech with reasons for the explanation of words, because it is the speech with reasons for meaning. Fourth, the analytical knowledge of individual eloquence is, knowing the meaning of the contradictory relationship of dharmas and the related reasoning, and clearly expressing without obstruction to others, therefore it is skilled in eloquence. Second, the difference of eloquence wisdom, the difference of the other three, the explanation of the way of common attainment.

Three. First, regarding what to examine, what to focus on, what the nature of knowledge is, and in which realm it exists. First, for those who are skilled in eloquent speech without hindrance to expressing themselves to others, and who do not forget the samadhi of tranquility and insight of their own mindfulness, being in control of the path itself is being unhindered, that is, being skilled in one's own mindfulness. It is also courage and discriminating awareness. Or, courage is speaking of liberating wisdom, because of knowing it. Second, the focus of that courage and wisdom is: when expressing, focus on speech; when using the mind, focus on the path. Third, the essence of knowledge is ninefold. Focusing on speech includes: conventional knowledge, knowledge of the origin of suffering, knowledge of the Dharma, subsequent knowledge, knowledge of cessation, and knowledge of non-arising, totaling seven. Focusing on the path includes: knowledge of the Dharma, subsequent knowledge, knowledge of cessation, knowledge of non-arising, knowledge of the path, and knowledge of others' minds, totaling six. Because it does not focus on the unconditioned, it excludes knowledge of cessation. If one focuses on speech, how does it become knowledge of the origin of suffering? Because speech is defiled and produces future lives, it is the origin of suffering. Fourth, from the desire realm to the peak of existence, all realms exist accordingly, because one focuses on either speech or the path. Second, explaining the remaining three includes explaining the knowledge of meaning and explaining the latter two. First, there are two questions: how many kinds of knowledge are there, and where do they exist? First, if one considers the accurate knowledge of meaning as the wisdom that understands all meanings and dharmas, then there are ten kinds of knowledge. If one considers it as the wisdom that understands nirvana, then there are six, excluding the four: knowledge of the origin of suffering, knowledge of the path, and knowledge of others' minds. Second, that knowledge of meaning exists in all realms. Second, it includes the common essence and separately indicating in which realm they exist. First, apart from that, the two kinds of accurate knowledge that separately understand Dharma and definitive words are conventional knowledge, because Dharma and definitive words refer to the Dharma to be explained, names, words, etc., and focus on speech. Second, it includes two kinds: Dharma knowledge and speech knowledge. First, the wisdom that separately and accurately understands Dharma exists in the desire realm and the four dhyanas, that is, these five realms, because above the fourth dhyana there is no collection of expressive names, words, and letters. Second, speech, that is, the wisdom that separately and accurately understands definitive words, exists only in the desire realm and the first dhyana, as it is said in the sutras, "After thinking and analyzing, one speaks words," therefore speech is aroused by conceptual thought, so it does not exist above the second dhyana.
