There are four types of mind consciousness, none of which arise from medicine. These four that are born with one are not direct perception. Like the body that becomes the cause of liberation. That is virtuous. The divine eye that is born with one does not see the intermediate state. That is because it is the realm of the pure divine eye that is free from eleven faults. These four that are born with one are possessed by the gods and nagas of the desire realm and those of the form realm. Secondly, the other-minds' awareness that is born with one is of three types: virtuous, non-virtuous, and neutral. Whatever mind consciousness is known by logicians from signs, and the mind consciousness created by secret mantras, that is also of the three types, virtuous, etc., but mind consciousness arising from meditation is only virtuous. Regarding mind consciousness and the recollection of past lives, hell beings, from the moment they are first born until they are afflicted by the feeling of suffering, know the minds of others and their past lives. Later, because their minds are impaired by suffering, they do not even remember themselves, let alone know anything else. Other beings, such as gods, nagas, and pretas, possess mind consciousness and the recollection of past lives that are born with them, and because they are not afflicted by the feeling of suffering like hell beings, they always know. That is also mostly the case. The gods remember their past and future lives, as do animals, nagas, etc., and pretas remember their past deeds. As for humans, the miraculous powers, etc., that were previously mentioned. There are those that arise from meditation, logic, secret mantras, and medicine, but there are none that are born with one. If there were, then simply by the power of being born as a human, one should have them effortlessly, but since there is none among any of the human races. The name of the second chapter: From the verses of the Abhidharmakośa, it is called "Teaching on Wisdom," which is the explanation of the seventh place. Teaching on Wisdom.
