Like a staircase, keeping the order of arising and the nature in mind, first is the heat stage of the path of joining, which focuses on the first two truths. Second, all eighty-nine uninterrupted paths. Third, all liberation paths. The liberation path is the basis from the beginning, not the antidote to severing. Fourth is the special path, which is all paths other than the first three. It is said that this order is very good. Second, regarding the ancillary meaning, what is abandoned from the same object of focus? How many types of severance are there? Discriminating the difference between abandonment and attainment of separation, there are three points. First, from what do these antidotes abandon? From expelling afflictions from the object of focus, this is considered what is to be abandoned. But it is not because abandonment and antidote are the same that they exist. If so, because they do not arise without each other, they cannot distinguish their own collection, because they can be distinguished from the object of focus. Furthermore, the afflictions that exist in one's own continuum are the attainment of cessation, and are abandoned when the attainment of separation arises. Not afflictions of one's own continuum, virtuous contaminated, unobscured and unspecified, all form and formless, for these afflictions that exist in one's own continuum with the object of focus, for the desire to abandon craving, the name of abandonment is applied. Furthermore, what is abandoned by the path of seeing is simultaneous, what is abandoned by the path of meditation is abandoned gradually, and even if what is abandoned by the path of seeing is abandoned by a common person, it is said to be abandoned gradually. Second, the nature of severance, distance itself also has four types: even if they exist in the same collection, because the natures are inconsistent and different, they are distant. Being distant from inconsistent aspects and antidotes. The objects of each other are completely severed, so they are distant. And distance in time, these four are in order like time and the four great elements, etc. Like immoral conduct and discipline, etc. Like the oceans in different directions of east and west, etc. Distance in time itself is like the past and future. Furthermore, it is unreasonable to establish the past and future as being distant from the present, and time and difference, destruction and non-attainment, and because of the interval with the present, because the nature of these two is destruction and non-attainment. The teacher considers that the self-character of dharma is distant from things. Third, all afflictions, abandoned by the antidote of abandonment, the path of abandonment, and abandoned by the attainment of cessation, are exhausted once and for all, and cannot be abandoned multiple times.

However, the attainment of separation from those afflictions becomes special again and again. Where? There are six occasions: if the faculties are dull, the arising of their respective antidotes, and the attainment of the four fruits of the ascetic life, such as stream-enterer, and those times when the faculties develop from dull to sharp. Regarding the attainment of separation becoming special, if the faculties are sharp, because the faculties do not transfer, it becomes special on five occasions. Among them, the arising of the antidote is the path of liberation that arises together with the attainment of separation, because the path of no-interruption only shows the direction when the attainment of separation arises, but has not yet arisen at present. Through separation, the name of complete knowledge is obtained in those stages. Second, regarding the fruit of complete knowledge, there are two types: determining the nature of the nine complete knowledges and determining the differences. First, in general, complete knowledge is divided into two types: complete knowledge of wisdom and complete knowledge of abandonment. The first is the wisdom of uncontaminated liberation, and the second is the cessation of the respective analyses of its object of abandonment. Of these two, here is the latter, which is established as complete knowledge because the object is blessed by the subject, or the fruit of abandonment is blessed by the cause of wisdom. Such complete knowledge is divided into nine types from the perspective of abandoning what is to be abandoned, as follows: In the desire realm, the two objects to be abandoned are exhausted by seeing the first two truths, one complete knowledge of abandoning the suffering and origin to be abandoned in the desire realm, and the two complete knowledges of the path of cessation, which are the cessation and abandonment of the two objects to be abandoned in the path of cessation. There are three complete knowledges of abandoning what is to be seen in the desire realm, and similarly, the complete knowledges of abandoning what is to be seen in the upper realms of the form and formless realms are also three. Thus, there are six complete knowledges of abandoning what is to be seen, and in addition to the complete knowledge of abandoning what is to be seen, there are three complete knowledges of the path of cultivation, namely, the complete knowledge of abandoning what is similar to the final part, the complete knowledge of exhausting the outflows of form, and the complete knowledge of exhausting all outflows. If the two complete knowledges of abandoning what is to be seen in the upper two realms are combined into one, then why are those of what is to be cultivated separated? Because what is to be cultivated in the upper two realms, between the grounds, there are nine antidotes for each of the nine to be cultivated
