Since the wrong views and so on that take the uncontaminated as their object are all included in the truth of suffering, even if one understands the truth of suffering through the Dharma-patience-wisdom and subsequent-patience-wisdom of suffering, one will not abandon them at that time. This is because those are the paths of cessation and the abandonments of the path of seeing. Later, through the Dharma and subsequent wisdom-patience of the path of cessation, those that take the uncontaminated as their object are abandoned, so it is because they are abandoned by abandoning the object. Those three ways of abandoning are also the ways of abandoning the abandonments of the path of seeing of one's own continuum, but for all the abandonments of the path of seeing of others' continuums, as in "whoever generates it will not abandon it," etc., it is only through abandoning the two coemergent afflictions of the object-possessor's own continuum. The second part has two aspects: the teaching and the explanation. First, the fourth way of abandoning is the abandonments of the path of meditation. Having divided the aspects of the afflictions of each ground into nine, and having generated the antidote, whether it is the great antidote for the great, or the small antidote for the small, the affliction will be exhausted and abandoned. Even if one understands the four truths as the object of the path of seeing, one will not abandon the abandonments of the path of meditation, so it is not abandoned by understanding the object. As in "even if the first aspect is abandoned, its..." etc., it is also not abandoned by the exhaustion of the object. Even if the first eight abandonments of the path of meditation as the object are abandoned, it is not abandoned by abandoning the object because the later ninth, which is the object-possessor, is not abandoned. Furthermore, the contaminated form and formless afflictions that are the abandonments of the path of meditation of one's own continuum, and all of others' continuums, are abandoned by the exhaustion of the object-possessor. Second, the antidotes are of four types. First, the antidote of abandonment is the uninterrupted path, such as Dharma-patience, which cuts off the acquisition of afflictions. Second, the antidote of the basis is the grasping of the separation-acquisition that is abandoned by the uninterrupted path, except for the first uninterrupted path, all the paths of liberation such as Dharma-wisdom, etc. Therefore, the first uninterrupted path is the antidote of abandonment, but not the antidote of the basis. Third, the antidote of lengthening the distance itself is the special path up to that point, except for the first path of liberation, the Dharma-wisdom of suffering, because it lengthens the distance of acquisition. Fourth, the one called the antidote of completely refuting is the path that takes the first two truths as its object, refuting the object in aspects such as impermanence. Therefore, the abandonment-antidote, etc., that takes the first two truths as its object is also the antidote of refutation. Thus it is said. The teacher said.
