That is to say, the latter two views consider the former three views to be superior and pure. Because the former three are the objects to be grasped, and the latter two are the same as considering the inferior to be superior, the latter two views are established as other attachments from the attachment of views. If someone asks, what is the reason for only speaking of jealousy and stinginess among the eight predispositions? Because both jealousy and stinginess are uniquely non-virtuous, and are the same as ignorance, being corresponding non-virtuous autonomy, therefore jealousy and stinginess are separately spoken of as two attachments from the six secondary defilements such as shamelessness. Although both shamelessness and lack of embarrassment are uniquely non-virtuous, they are not autonomous, because they correspond to other afflictions such as attachment. Although regret is autonomous, it is not necessarily evil, because there is also good. Dullness, agitation, and sleep also have good, and are indeterminate, and also correspond to greed and the like. Because it is not uniquely non-virtuous, nor is it the corresponding non-virtuous autonomy that is the same as ignorance. Some Vaibhashikas who follow the authors of the treatises think this way. Others think that there are ten predispositions, and if that were the case, anger and concealment would also be non-virtuous autonomy, so it would be a fault to be declared as an attachment. Master Sthiramati replied that although there are ten predispositions, jealousy and stinginess particularly bind the good realms, because they are very sharp and occur repeatedly, and those two are respectively the cause of small power and enjoyment. The Bodhisattva said that these two respectively show the suffering of universal affliction, and all the afflictions of universal joy and possession, and particularly bind both householders and renunciants, as well as gods and non-gods. Second, it is divided into the actual statement and the two types of explaining the three attachments from it. First. Also, the sutra says that the noble non-returner is one who has abandoned the five attachments that correspond to the lower part, that is to say, such as: the view of the perishable collection, the adherence to discipline and asceticism, doubt, desire for desire, and anger. Thus it is said. Among them, the lower part is the lower of the three realms, the desire realm, one

There is no equal abiding. Because non-virtue, evil destinies, suffering, discomfort, and afflictions exist without interruption, the word "last" is added to the inferior. The corresponding aspect is that these five are in accordance with desire, that is, like this. The two, desire and harm, whoever possesses them, is definitely a desire realm being, and there is none in the higher realms. Like a gatekeeper guarding a prison, they do not go beyond desire. The three, such as the view of the aggregates, are like escaping from prison once, but returning because of following. Although born in the upper realms, they also make them return. If it is said that way, then other root afflictions besides anger, the five views and doubt, all six, would also become like that. According to the Yogacara school, there is nothing, even if one is free from desire, if one possesses the first three, the first three make the last of sentient beings an ordinary person, and the latter two make the last of the realms not go beyond the desire realm. Even noble ones, if they do not abandon them, will not go beyond the desire realm. Although there are other afflictions that do not go beyond it, it is because they are the main ones. Second, if the noble Stream-enterer has already abandoned all that is abandoned by the path of seeing, then the Great Thousand Worlds Sutra says: "As soon as it is combined with this view, the view of the aggregates and the adherence to ethics and rituals, doubt and the three afflictions, are immediately abandoned, and the truth of the noble ones is seen." And the Sutra Requested by Great Name also says: "Abandoning the three, such as the view of the aggregates, one becomes a Stream-enterer." What does this mean? Because these three summarize the doors of what is abandoned by the path of seeing, and summarize the root. The view of the aggregates is the single door of what is to be abandoned, that is, what is abandoned by seeing suffering. Showing that it is abandoned, it is also understood that the extreme view is abandoned, because it is the same single door. Adherence to ethics and rituals is two doors, that is, what is abandoned by seeing suffering and the path. Doubt is the four doors of what is abandoned by seeing the four truths. Abandoning it, it is also understood that wrong view and holding views as supreme are abandoned, because they are the same four doors. Therefore, it is said that the three intermediate views are summarized from the door of the door. It is also said that abandoning them also shows that attachment and so on are abandoned, because attachment and so on are their objects. The commentators explain it this way. Then, if other similar doors, extreme views, holding views as supreme, wrong views, can any one be said?
