It comes with the subtle and gross of transformation. Although the uncontaminated aims at the subtle, it is not both the gross. Second, the order aims at the four truths. From complete ignorance, doubt arises as to whether the four truths exist or not. Then, the wrong view of "it does not exist" arises. Then, the view of the destructible collection, which is the opposite of truth, arises. Dependent on this, the view of clinging to extremes, which sees it as permanent or impermanent, arises. Then, because one believes that one can be liberated by the extreme view that one clings to, one holds the precepts and asceticism as supreme. Then, because one believes that it can liberate, one holds one's own view as supreme. Dependent on one's own view, arrogance and attachment arise. Hatred arises towards other views. In this way, the order of arising is shown. Other teachers say that the object of what is to be abandoned by the path of seeing is the view that exists in one's own continuum. Therefore, hatred is not hatred of other views, but hatred of abandoning the view that one previously held. Here, according to the order of what is to be abandoned. That is, because of the previous path of seeing, it is established by the power of one order of what is to be abandoned by the path of seeing. Otherwise, it is not certain what will arise after what. Third, the cause of arising is the power of the cause, and the condition that the attainment in the continuum has not been cut off and the antidote has not arisen. It is not what is to be abandoned by the subtle and gross. The power of the object and the object, and the objects that are in accordance with the arising of attachment, etc., are nearby. The power of application and the immediately preceding condition, and the three non-virtuous mental activities, from these three, afflictions arise, so the cause of afflictions is complete. The Vaibhashikas say that like the afflictions of an Arhat who has degenerated, although there is no power of cause, sometimes it arises only from the power of the object. It is said in the commentary that if the cause is not complete, then the result will definitely not arise. What is not to be abandoned by the subtle and gross, the Sutra masters consider to be the seeds of afflictions, and the Vaibhashikas consider it to be attainment. Second, the categories that appear in the Sutras and Treatises. There are two types: the categories that appear in the Sutras and the categories that appear in the Treatises. The first one has outflows, confluences, and acquisitions. And four definitions of these. The first one has the division of outflows into three, and two reasons for dividing them in this way. First, all five categories of what is to be abandoned in the three realms are combined.

There are eighty-eight subtle ones, plus ten pervasive ones, totaling one hundred and eight. Due to necessity, they are divided into three leaks, and further divided into four currents and four yokes. If considering the desire realm, the thirty-one afflictions excluding the five types of ignorance, plus the ten pervasive ones, totaling forty-one, are the leaks of desire. In the form and formless realms, the fifty-two subtle afflictions excluding the ten types of ignorance are solely the leaks of existence. The fifteen types of ignorance of the three realms are the leaks of ignorance. If it is said that the upper two realms have dullness and agitation as pervasive, then it would become fifty-six. The Kashmiris say that the dullness and agitation of the upper realms are associated with attachment, etc., and are not autonomous. However, if this is said, then the shamelessness, lack of embarrassment, dullness, and agitation of the desire realm would also become not leaks of desire, because they are associated with attachment, etc., and are not autonomous. To this, it is argued here that because their own function is small, they are considered not autonomous, but it is not that they are not autonomous because they are associated with attachment, etc. Second, the reason for combining the two leaks into one, calling it the leak of existence, is that these afflictions are obscuring and unstated, and are the place of meditative absorption that looks inward, so they are combined and called the leak of existence. The purpose is to reverse the notion of liberation. Because the root of all afflictions is ignorance, the fifteen types of ignorance of the three realms are separately shown as the leaks of ignorance. Second, dividing into four currents and four yokes, there are two aspects: the division and the reason for establishing it that way. First, the four currents and four yokes are also established like the general category, in which views are more wavering and clearer than other afflictions, so they are shown separately. Therefore, the currents or yokes of the desire realm are twenty-nine, the currents and yokes of existence are twenty-eight, the fifteen types of ignorance of the three realms are the currents and yokes of ignorance, and the thirty-six types of views of the three realms are the currents and yokes of views. If it is because of clarity, then ignorance should not be shown separately, but attachment, anger, etc., should be shown separately, because this reason is not reasonable, so it is said to depend on the thoughts of the beings to be tamed. Second, in the leaks, views are not shown separately. If they are established in samsara, or if leaks are called leaks, then views and attachment, etc.
