Those with pleasure and body possess the previous three and their respective four. Among them, those with pleasure but without body, are included in the third ground, and for the sake of attaining undefiled pleasure, are non-returners and arhats born in the formless realm. Those with body are the desire and form realms. Those with body but without eyes, etc., are those who have not attained eyes, etc., or have lost them. Eyes, etc., and the faculties of ear, nose, and tongue, possess the previously mentioned four, such as body, etc., and their respective five. Those with the faculty of mental pleasure also possess the previous three, plus pleasure and mental pleasure, and their respective five. Among them, those with pleasure but without mental pleasure are children of the third ground. Those with mental pleasure are children of the second ground and below. Although children of the second ground possess mental pleasure, they do not have pleasure, because they are abandoned by beings of the first ground and below, and have not attained the pleasure of the third ground. If it is said: The pleasure of the third ground also exists among those with afflictions, because they have not abandoned the afflictions of the upper realms, so it is said that they possess pleasure, this is the tenet. The faculty of suffering is the desire realm, and for this, there are the three pervasive ones, as well as bodily pleasure, mental pleasure, suffering, and the self, making seven. Mental displeasure is not possessed because desire realm free from attachment do not possess it. Other feelings possess whatever is appropriate of the attainment of virtue and affliction. Female organ and so on, male organ and mental displeasure. Those with faith, etc., the previous three, plus seven, and each counted separately, the latter five, such as faith, etc., possess the three pervasive ones, making a total of eight. And the all-knowing and those with all-knowing. These two faculties possess the self and the nine undefiled ones, the life force and eleven are definitely possessed. Non-returners and arhats entering the three realms are all likely to attain. Those below the third dhyana, although they possess eleven. If it is said that noble learners born in the fourth dhyana and above do not have pleasure and mental pleasure in their own ground, because they have been transferred and abandoned. Even if there are not the two defiled ones, they possess the two undefiled ones previously attained. Even if they are abandoned through attaining fruition and practice, etc., they will not abandon the new ones, so they must possess eleven. So it is said. The faculty that performs all-knowing is the path of seeing dependent on the desire realm, therefore, it possesses the self and, mind, life, body root, mental pleasure, pleasure, suffering, equanimity, and the five such as faith, making a total of thirteen. It is possessed. The path of seeing must possess either the male or female organ, but it is not necessarily possessed.

Therefore it is said. Second, it is certain that only the desire realm has existence. Among those without virtuous roots, they possess few senses and limited knowledge. They have a body and five senses, life and mind, totaling eight. Even an ordinary child in the formless realm has these eight, because they possess equanimity, life, mind, faith, and other virtues. Third, they possess many, totaling nineteen, except for the three stainless ones. That is, they possess dual genders, or they are noble beings of the stream-enterer or once-returner, who still have attachment. For them, they possess either male or female gender, but not both. For the all-knowing, they possess all except the latter two stainless ones. For the knower of all, they possess all except the upper and lower two stainless ones. Second, explaining how conditioned phenomena arise, there are two aspects: the manner in which the produced objects, form, consciousness, and non-associated formations arise; and the explanation of the classification of the three, cause, condition, and result, of such arising. First, there are three aspects: form, consciousness, non-associated formations, and the explanation of how they arise. First, in general, all objects of knowledge are contained within the five aggregates. Unconditioned phenomena do not arise, while conditioned phenomena have three: form, consciousness, and non-associated formations. Among these, the form aggregate consists of subtle particles and the five gross sense organs and their objects, as well as non-revealing forms that are neither gross nor subtle. Subtle particles are considered to be indivisible, circular, and with intervals. Because light and darkness, etc., are close, they obstruct the movement of the other, so they are called harm and obstruction, but not because of partial contact, and because they do not separate due to mutual strength, they do not decay. Even if the drum and drumstick do not touch, they are so close that wind gathers and produces sound. The subtle particles of objects and senses do not produce consciousness, but rather through accumulation. If the appearance of objects does not exist, then this appearance is not real, and there is no proof for the existence of unseen objects. If the gross appearance is consciousness, then the gross appearance is not an accumulation of subtle particles. It is contradictory for consciousness to be self-aware. Having mentioned some things that come along the way, the meaning of the words is: In the desire realm, for those without sense organs such as the body, and without sound, the accumulated subtle particles that can appear, like dust in sunlight, the four elements of earth, water, fire, and wind, and form, smell, taste, and touch, these eight subtle material substances must arise together. Those with the body sense have nine subtle material substances including the body sense. If they have other substances of any sense organ such as the eye, then they have ten substances including that substance. If these arise with sound, then there are eleven. The basic subtle particles have eight non-accumulated, scattered subtle particles.
