When examining whether the mind has feelings, it is said that there is a simultaneous cause. Because there is no past or future, it is not an objective condition for it. The dominant condition is that which does not obscure everything. Since it does not exist outside of those, it is not explained separately. Secondly, it is divided into two: how it becomes a condition for consciousness and general form, and how it acts as a condition for specific matter. First, it is divided into two: the actual way of being a condition, and based on that, refuting other wrong discriminations. First, the four conditions give rise to mind and mental factors. Even the mind that holds things like rabbit horns and sky flowers, some think that rabbits and horns, etc., are upward, so they arise from that. The Vaibhashikas think that rabbit horns and other name concepts exist as real entities, and arise from those. Some think that inverted minds and mental factors do not arise from the objective condition, and those that are not inverted arise from the objective condition, which is said to be good. The cause and condition for mind and mental factors are the five kinds as appropriate. Except for the objective condition, the three give rise to the two attainments of equipoise. The cause and condition for the two attainments of equipoise are the co-emergent and the five or four aggregates of virtue that are the same as the ground. Here, the immediately preceding condition is the mind of entering into equipoise, and because it is the manifestation of the mind, these two attainments of equipoise arise from the manifestation of the mind, and the immediately preceding condition of the mind is a condition, but because it hinders the arising of the mind, it is not an immediately preceding condition. It is said to be a condition that is not a condition. It does not arise from the objective condition because it is not an object. Therefore, the Vaibhashikas do not accept the immediately preceding condition of form, but they do accept some that are not corresponding, because the two attainments of equipoise are non-corresponding aggregates of action and matter. The unconscious one is propelled by past karma and enters naturally, not generated by the manifestation of the mind, so it is not said to arise from the immediately preceding condition. Apart from these three, the remaining other forms arise from the two, co-existent cause and dominant condition, as appropriate. Secondly, these vessel and content worlds arise from the aggregation of many causes and conditions, not from a single permanent cause such as Ishvara, because they arise gradually, etc. The three, object, time, and substance, are sometimes different and diverse.

Therefore, if it is produced by something that is pervasive and eternally one, then the result will either have no difference in terms of place, time, and self, or it will fall into non-existence. Therefore, the result is different in terms of place, time, and self, and thus the single cause cannot be established. Secondly, the way to become a condition for tangible objects is: In the detailed explanation of the causes and conditions of form, if the cause of the elements (འབྱུང་བ།) is the elements (འབྱུང་བ།), then there are two types: equal share and co-emergence. If the earlier of the same kind produces the later, it is equal share. Co-emergence is when the other three are combined and produced at the same time. If the elements (འབྱུང་བ།) produce other forms transformed from the elements (འབྱུང་བ།) as the dominant condition, then the cause as the agent has only five functions. There is no cause or condition. What is it? It is to produce new resultant forms that have not been produced before, and to make the continuities conform, just as a student is produced from a teacher, and to serve as the basis for the continuity of existence, like a painted wall, and to serve as the cause of continuous existence, like food for the body, and to make it grow from top to top. In short, it is the three: birth, dwelling, and growth. Birth and conformity with the support, continuous and growth. That's what it says. These five are the differences of the agent cause, so if the elements (འབྱུང་བ།) act on the transformed elements (འབྱུང་འགྱུར།), then it is not other than the agent cause, because there is no equal share, and although co-emergent, they are not cause and effect to each other, and they are not pervasive, and they do not have the same characteristics, and the elements (འབྱུང་བ།) cannot become good or bad. If the transformed elements (འབྱུང་འགྱུར།) produce the transformed elements (འབྱུང་འགྱུར།), then co-emergence, equal share, and maturation are appropriate, that is, they produce each other. Co-emergence is when the four elements (འབྱུང་བཞི།) are produced from one collection, so the seven abandonments of the discipline of uncontaminated concentration are each other, and if they are produced from different collections, then the eye and so on, and its five objects, the initial discipline and so on, are not. Equal share is when the earlier of the same kind, such as virtue, produces the later. Maturation is: expressive and non-expressive, contaminated virtuous karma, unwholesome physical and verbal actions, etc., produce the bodies of the heavens and evil destinies with the senses and so on. The cause of the elements (འབྱུང་བ།) is the transformed elements (འབྱུང་འགྱུར།), and the cause of maturation is the only one, that is, the expressive and non-expressive of body and speech, contaminated virtuous karma and unwholesome karma produce the collection of senses and so on.
