If we meet and see it as a fault, then one should not enter into it. Thus it is said. This (meditation) is only generated by children, because from this one will further be born as a long-lived god, therefore that place is a place of no leisure, hence it is seen as a place of downfall. Also, because they see existence as not being the path to liberation, therefore the noble ones do not enter. Only the past and future cannot be obtained, only the present moment is obtained, because there is no mind. In the first moment, the present is obtained, and having obtained without abandoning, it also corresponds to the past, like individual liberation. Although this is familiarity, it must be accomplished with great diligence. This is also attributed to blocking the six consciousnesses with attention, but there is no other substance that blocks. In the sixth (dhyana), the essence, why one enters, the support of the mind, whether it is virtuous, when it is experienced, what causes it to be obtained, and the support of the body, these seven in order are: that which is called "the absorption of cessation," is also like the higher realm of the absorption of non-perception, as a substance for blocking the mind and mental factors, but differs by attention and so on. The meaning of this absorption of cessation is: to abide in the pacification of consciousness and feeling, not necessarily to arise. The ground only exists for those born at the end of the peak of existence, and does not exist on other grounds. The essence is virtue generated by intention. The transformation of experience has the transformation of experience after birth, and the transformation of experience at other times, and three kinds of uncertain experience, but there is no immediately visible (experience). Because its ripening is the four aggregates of name in the peak of existence, therefore those of the desire realm and form realm are born there, and it is impossible to be born there. Among them, the transformation of experience after birth is that the noble ones of the desire realm, having obtained it (the meditation), go to the peak of existence without degenerating. The transformation of experience at other times is that having obtained it (the meditation) in the desire realm, they degenerate, manifest it in the form realm, and then go to the peak of existence. Uncertain experience is that both of them obtain the Arhatship in the desire realm and form realm. This cannot be generated by children, because for this one needs to obtain the eight minds below the peak of existence of tranquil abiding, and the wisdom of the noble ones who have abandoned the to-be-seen-abandoned of the peak of existence, without these two, it cannot be generated. Also, because if children grasp at the self in the mind of the peak of existence, they fear falling into nihilism, therefore they generate the thought of being on the edge of a cliff. There are also noble ones with attachment there, and some non-returners, and Arhats who are liberated from the part of wisdom, and so on.

Since one has not obtained the mind of the peak of existence, one cannot enter into this (cessation). In order to obtain the mind of the peak of existence, one will not come. Arhats who are liberated from both parts manifest the peaceful cessation with their bodies. Solitary Buddhas, Bodhisattvas above the sixth ground, and Buddhas are able to enter into this. Even the noble ones obtain it through the yoga of generating the power of the mind, not merely through detachment. Therefore, just like the Pratimoksha vows, only the present is obtained, not the past or the future. In the desire realm, due to the power of coarse food reaching its limit, one can only enter into it for seven days, but in the higher realms (form and formless realms), it is as desired. Then, do all noble ones need to obtain it through yoga? No, through the Buddha's enlightenment of obtaining the knowledge of exhaustion, it is obtained incidentally, not through yoga, because all qualities are effortless. Then, if the Buddha attained cessation but did not manifest it, then it would become not liberated from both parts, because without manifesting cessation, one cannot be liberated from the obscurations of meditative absorption. To this, the Vaibhashikas of western Kashmir say that the Buddha generated the path of seeing under the Bodhi tree based on the fourth dhyana, and then generated cessation with the mind of the peak of existence. After that, rising from cessation, relying on the mind of the fourth dhyana, he abandoned the objects to be abandoned by cultivation of the peak of existence and manifested the knowledge of exhaustion and non-arising. The Kashmiris say that in the beginning of knowing exhaustion and non-arising, cessation was not manifested first, but on one seat, there were sixteen moments of the path of seeing, and the uninterrupted path and the path of liberation of the nine abandonments of the peak of existence of the path of cultivation, that is, thirty-four moments, continuously obtained the supreme enlightenment. The objects to be abandoned by seeing and cultivation of the lower eight grounds, the Tathagata is detached from desire in advance, so their antidotes are not generated here. Because there is no obstruction to cessation, it is liberation from both parts, and because it is intention-increasing, it is not gradual. The Westerners say that even if cessation is interrupted, it will not become intention-increasing, because it is said in the Vinaya-vastu that as long as one has not obtained the exhaustion of outflows, one vows not to break the lotus posture, and one will not rise from the path of non-outflows, so there is no fault, thus answering.
