There are three types of attainment with outflows: the attainment of outflows and non-analytical cessation, analytical cessation. The attainments gained by non-aryas are neither trainees nor non-trainees. The analytical cessation attained by trainees is the path of the trainee who has passed beyond. The non-trainee who has passed beyond the path, abandoning the peak of existence, attained by the ninth liberation, is a non-trainee. Sixth, the attainment of what is abandoned by seeing is what is abandoned by seeing, and the attainment of what is abandoned by meditation is what is abandoned by meditation. Among the uncontaminated that are not to be abandoned, the attainment of non-analytical cessation is all that is unwholesome. The analytical cessation attained by non-aryas is all contaminated virtue, which is abandoned by meditation. The attainment of analytical cessation attained by the noble path, and the attainment of the truth of the path, are considered to be two types of non-abandonment. Seventh, the attainment of unobscured and unspecified faculties, etc., arises simultaneously with what is attained, and does not arise before or after, because these dharmas are weak. However, there are exceptions: the two unspecified superknowledges of the divine eye and ear, and the unspecified mind of emanation. These three must be accomplished through intense yoga, so attainment can arise in all three times. Similarly, the attainment of craftsmanship and conduct that are extremely familiar can arise in all three times. The attainment of form that is obscured and unspecified is also simultaneous. That obscured and unspecified form is all the physical and verbal actions in the first dhyana that are instigated by the afflictions of one's own realm. Because there is no instigation, it does not exist in other realms or grounds, but only in that one. In the desire realm, the attainment of form that is expressive or non-expressive, virtuous or non-virtuous, arises simultaneously and later, but does not arise earlier. Similarly, the two samapattis, the path of seeing that has the nature of arising, and things like superknowledges and immeasurables that are not mixed, and the knowledge taught by the Tathagata, and views, etc., that are attained through practice, mostly do not have prior arising. Therefore, the afflictions that are concomitant with mind and mental factors, and virtuous dharmas, and virtuous forms that exist in form, and all non-associated formations, virtuous and non-virtuous, are considered to be of the three times. If attainment is different from what is attained and the continuum, why is there attainment? Because the scriptures show it to be valid, that is, to generate these ten non-training dharmas.

Each is attained separately, because it is all-encompassing. Thus it is said. The teacher said that this refers to the noble ones possessing power and wealth, not indicating that it exists as a substance, just as having the seven precious gems of a wheel-turning king. Logically, if it is permissible to appear but not designated, it is a conceptual construct, and it is not permissible for either arising or establishment, and it will become limitless, so it is not reasonable. Therefore, the cause of all phenomena is the seed, and power is the manifestation of the seed, tending towards arising, and the cause of manifestation is the nature of the phenomena themselves. When these three are possessed by the arising noble ones, it is said to be attained, and when not possessed, it is said to be unattained, but there is no other substance. Secondly, there are two aspects: the essence and the distinction. Firstly, the unattained is not possessing the dharma of the continuum and the two cessations. Unattained means previously attained but lost, newly non-existent, and not possessing means that its continuum is not possessed. Originally not possessing means never having attained it. Such unattained is entirely obscured and unindicated. Secondly, there are two distinctions: the distinction of time and the distinction of which realm it belongs to. Firstly, the unattained of past dharmas and unborn future dharmas has three aspects of time, but if it is a present dharma, then the unattained and the present are contradictory, so it does not exist, but the past and future exist. In total, there are eight. Secondly, there are two aspects: which realm it belongs to and how the uncontaminated does not exist. Firstly, whatever the cause of the unattained is, whether it is a dharma of the three realms or uncontaminated, the realm on which the unattained depends belongs to that place, such as the desire realm, and all the unattained in the form and formless realms belong to that place. The unattained of the stainless path and the two cessations also belong to the three realms. Secondly, there are two aspects: the unattained of the path and how the unattained is lost. Firstly, if you wonder how the uncontaminated unattained belongs to the three realms, it is like this: the unattained of the path or the unattained of the path is desired by ordinary beings, so it is contaminated, not the path itself. The unattained of the two cessations is also contaminated. However, the non-discriminating unattained is possessed by the noble ones, because there is the unattained of the non-discriminating cessation of wisdom and so on, and if there is no unattained of the individually discriminating non-cessation of wisdom and so on, then there is no wisdom and so on. This is also not contaminated, because it is different from wisdom and so on.
