The four elements are the cutter and the cut, similarly, fire is the burner, and the scale is the measurer, and these are also the four. Second, it is said that burning and measuring are different, some say that the burner is only fire, which is touchable, and the object to be measured is only heavy, so it is also touchable. Some say that it is not only touchable, but the four external elements are gathered together. Twelfth, it is divided into three points: to determine which of the three origins belongs to, to explain the uncertain, and to explain the special features of the eight unobstructed ones. First, the five internal faculties arise from the cause of maturation of good and non-good, and from the cause of growth, because they are produced by non-good and good with outflows, and they are increased by the cause of growth. Among them, there are four causes of growth: food, good things such as oiling and wiping, sleep, and meditation. Some say that there are five kinds of pure conduct, but that is only non-harmful, not growth. Sound is connected after being cut off, and can be changed according to the meaning to be expressed, so it is not born from maturation. If so, then the voice of the Tathagata is born from maturation, and the bhikkhu's beautiful and pleasant voice is said to be the maturation of the bells attached to the stupa of the Wheel-Turning King, is this contradictory? There is no contradiction, it arises from karma, from that arises the Brahma sound, that is, the three are connected, or it arises from karma, from that arises growth, from that arises the same flow, from that arises the sound, it is said to be the fifth. Those are born from being passed on, so it is said that way, but in reality it is not, because it cannot be produced merely by desire, and it will fall into the fault of not being able to connect after being cut off. If so, then feeling is also the same, because it has three connections, is it? It is not the same, because sound can be produced at will, and some physical feelings will also arise even if they are not desired. Therefore, it is said that sound has both growth and the same flow. Arising from the cause of the same flow of one's own kind, and from the maturation, the seven mental factors and the eighth dharma are unobstructed, because they have equal share and are produced by the cause of omnipresence, and have the cause of maturation. Second, the remaining elements, other forms, smells, tastes

The four touches are the three types such as maturation, i.e., all three are present at the assembly of the senses, and from external homogeneous causes. Third, regarding things, there are four: permanent things, functional capacity, self-established, and different from that. Among these, there is only one that possesses permanent things, which is one aspect of Dharma, unconditioned. The first moment of suffering of Dharma, etc., in the other three realms, the moment of Dharma-tolerance, does not arise from a homogeneous cause, because the remaining realms other than that are not like that, therefore there is nothing that does not arise from a conditioned homogeneous cause, and because it is an unconditioned moment. There is only one that possesses things, and the other three are moments, which is called the special feature of the homogeneous cause of the eight unobstructed ones. Thirteenth, "eye and," "its consciousness, the two realms, each and," this shows the first two cases: having obtained the eye faculty but not having obtained eye consciousness, when beings in the desire realm gradually obtain the eye faculty, the simultaneous attainment of the unspecified, and the eye consciousness is afflicted, and the attainment of virtue has already existed before, and having transferred from the formless realm and being born in the second dhyana and above, because the second dhyana and above do not have eye consciousness in their own place, and because they have newly obtained the faculty. The second case is not having obtained eye consciousness but having obtained having eye consciousness, but not having obtained the eye faculty, such as the second dhyana and above manifesting the first eye consciousness, or the second dhyana and above dying and transferring, when taking rebirth in the intermediate state between the desire realm and the first dhyana. These two cases exist from the first eye. The third case, there is also the case of obtaining simultaneously, such as dying and transferring from the formless realm, and being born in the desire realm and the first dhyana. The case of not obtaining both, such as being born from the formless realm to the formless realm. Similarly, the four cases of eye and form, eye consciousness and form, are similarly applied to ear, etc. Also, the word "also" indicates that eye and eye consciousness are each, and also have simultaneously. It is said: the three higher dhyanas do not look at form is the first case, not having obtained the eye faculty that is the basis of the first dhyana and the desire realm, and abandoning it is the second case, having obtained its basis but not abandoning it, and beings in the form realm looking at form are the third case, the basis of the formless realm is the fourth case. The remaining faculties also apply to the ear, and the nose and tongue apply to two of the four cases.
