The pure view, the view of the learner, and the view of the non-learner, these three have eight aspects. The first five are afflicted: 1. The worldly correct view is virtuous and contaminated. 2. The learner is with what is abandoned by meditation. 3. The non-learner is without that. 4. The ways of seeing are also: gradually unclear is with clouds; 1. slightly clear is; 2. the night without clouds; very clear is 3. and extremely very clear is 4. like looking at objects in the daytime. Second, if the worldly correct view is also the wisdom that corresponds to mind consciousness, and is a virtuous and contaminated view, then why are others not? The intelligence that arises in correspondence with the five consciousnesses, that is, virtuous and contaminated wisdom, is not a view because it does not have definite discrimination of its own object. Second, then does the eye not become a view? The eye is from the aspect of seeing objects. Does everyone see? It is seen by what has a basis. There, it is not only the consciousness that relies on it that sees, because objects that are blocked by walls, etc., are not seen. If consciousness sees, then it should be unobstructed, and even if there is a barrier, it should be seen, but that is not the reason. It is said that "year" is refuted by the Sautrāntikas, even if consciousness sees, it does not enter into all obscurations, because the cause of seeing is not complete. If it is complete, it can be seen even if it is blocked by glass and water, etc. The eye sees with both, and seeing with both is because it sees clearly. Because the basis is divided into two, there is no fault in the dependent consciousness being divided into two, because consciousness is not form, so it does not abide in the object. The eighteenth question: the way the sense and object rely on each other, the way the sense consciousness relies on each other, and incidentally, examining whether these three, together with the body, are in one place or in different places, there are three aspects. The first aspect: whether the sense and object touch or do not touch, and whether they are equal or unequal, two kinds. The first aspect: the eye, mind, and ear, these three, grasp without touching their own object, while the nose, tongue, and body are different, that is, they grasp after touching. The second aspect: the nose, etc., that is, the tongue and body, think that the object is the dust of the object that is equal to the dust measure of the sense itself. The mind is not corporeal, so it is immeasurable, and the eye and ear sometimes grasp larger than the sense, sometimes smaller, and sometimes equal. Aiming at the accumulation of those, it is not produced by a single atom.

Okay. Second, there are two types: the real and the explanation of the uncommon cause and effect of the two. First, the support of the last mind consciousness of those realms is immediately past. The support of the five sense consciousnesses, such as eye consciousness, is also born simultaneously with oneself. Also, it is said that the mind is also past. Here, there are four possibilities regarding the support of eye consciousness and whether it is an immediate condition: For sense consciousness, the support is the five senses. The other is the mind and mental factors that have just passed. The second is the mind that has just passed. The five external form objects are the four possibilities. For mind consciousness, the first possibility does not exist. The second and fourth possibilities are the same. The third is the two previous minds. Second, why is it said that eye consciousness arises from form, but not form consciousness, etc.? Because when those senses change, consciousness naturally changes. When the senses change, depending on benefit and harm, consciousness follows that sense, and when the sense is clear, even if the object is not clear, consciousness is clear like an eagle. When the sense is not clear, even if the object is clear, consciousness is not clear. The uncommon support is the eye, etc., because it is a unique cause, so the name of those senses is used to indicate consciousness, just like the sound of a drum and the sprout of barley. The object is common to both eye consciousness and mind. Third, where does the body reside, and when the eye sees form, the ear hears, etc., are the body, eye, form, and consciousness in the same place or different places? It is shown that there are both different and the same. For this, there are five form sense organs. The three objects of sound, form, and touch, the desire realm and the four dhyanas, are the five grounds. The three consciousnesses of eye, ear, and body are in the desire realm and the first dhyana. The consciousnesses of smell and taste of nose and tongue are only in the desire realm. When the eye of one born in the desire realm sees form in its own place, everything is in its own place. When the eye of the desire realm and the fourth dhyana sees the form of the second or third dhyana, everything is in different places. After understanding this generally, the body that the upper body relies on, the lower eye does not rely on, because there is the best eye in its own place. The lower eye does not see the upper form, because it is subtle. Consciousness also, that is, the lower eye does not rely on the best consciousness of the upper. It is possible for the upper eye to rely on the lower consciousness.
