This Bodhisattva who abides here is a great Dharma speaker and protects the treasury of the Dharma of the Tathagata. Because he possesses the manner of speaking Dharma and possesses immeasurable wisdom, the Bodhisattva teaches the Dharma by manifestly accomplishing it with four kinds of perfect knowledge. He thoroughly understands the self-nature of all Dharmas through individual perfect knowledge of Dharmas. He thoroughly understands the distinctions of all Dharmas through individual perfect knowledge of meanings. He thoroughly understands the non-mixing manifestation of all Dharmas through individual perfect knowledge of definitive words. He thoroughly understands the uninterrupted continuity of the conformity of all Dharmas through individual perfect knowledge of eloquence. And so on, it is extensively spoken. The characteristic of the tenth ground is that it is established as the attainment of limitless doors of Samadhi and Dharani. At the time of attaining the tenth ground, the Bodhisattva attains the door of limitless Samadhi, such as the Samadhi of the Bodhisattva called Immaculate and called Great Vehicle Manifestation, and these Samadhis become the cause or place of the arising of many qualities such as manifest knowledge, therefore it is called a door. Similarly, the Dharani of Inexhaustible Treasure Trove and the Dharani of Limitless Doors, and so on, attain the door of limitless Dharani, and these Dharanis hold the words and meanings spoken by the Buddha without forgetting, and become the cause of showing various Dharmas to sentient beings, therefore it is called a door. In the Sutra it says: 'O sons of the Victorious Ones! The Bodhisattva who possesses such wisdom and has received empowerment, the Samadhi of the Bodhisattva called Immaculate will become manifest.' And so on, 'The Samadhi of the Bodhisattva, the Buddha who is presently abiding manifestly will become manifest,' and so on. And, the Bodhisattva who abides on this tenth ground will fully attain those doors of liberation, and so on, hundreds of thousands of countless immeasurable doors of liberation. Similarly, hundreds of thousands of Samadhis, and hundreds of thousands of countless Dharanis will be attained. Thus it is said. The eleventh ground, the ground of the Buddha, is that by abandoning the two obscurations together with their habitual tendencies, it possesses the wisdom of exhaustion and non-arising.

The very nature of great Bodhi, being utterly pure, is established as its characteristic. As stated in the Saṃdhinirmocana Sūtra: "Having abandoned the afflictions present in the bark, one attains the first and second bhūmis. By abandoning what is present in the sapwood, one goes beyond the third. The state of completely abandoning the afflictions present in the heartwood, where all their latent tendencies are entirely absent, I have described as the Buddha-bhūmi." Thus it is said. Through these establishments, one should understand what the characteristics are from the first bhūmi to the Buddha-bhūmi. Secondly, the establishment of the individuals abiding in the ten bhūmis: The individual abiding in the first bhūmi is called a Bodhisattva with pure vision, because they have attained the non-conceptual wisdom that realizes the two kinds of selflessness. The one abiding in the second bhūmi is called an individual with utterly pure morality, because even the slightest transgression does not occur. Similarly, the one abiding in the third bhūmi is one who is always in equanimity, because no matter where they are born, they do not lose their meditative concentration and samādhi. The one abiding in the fourth bhūmi is one who has abandoned pride in the Dharma. This is because during the third bhūmi, reverence for and complete seeking of the Dharma is as follows: Because they possess particularly discerning wisdom, they listen to the Dharma day and night, seek the Dharma, contemplate the Dharma, and practice in accordance with the Dharma. For the sake of the Dharma, there is not even the slightest thing, internal or external, that they are unwilling to give up. There is no negligence in showing respect and service to those who speak the Dharma. Regarding the Dharma and those who speak it, with the thought that they are difficult to find and rare, they accept them with great reverence, without even the slightest sign of disrespect or arrogance. For example, if someone were to say to you, "If you were to throw your body into this great pit of fire, burning and blazing everywhere, and experience the feeling of suffering, I would explain to you the words of the Dharma taught by the Buddha, which is the complete practice of the Bodhisattva's conduct," then, for the sake of even one word of the Dharma taught by the Buddha, which is the complete practice of the Bodhisattva's conduct, that Bodhisattva would
