Furthermore, being born in the mandala of the Buddha's retinue in all lifetimes is the tenth sign. Thus, these ten signs are considered to be the common signs of Bodhisattvas residing on all ten bhumis. Not only these ten signs, but also sixteen signs of obtaining the ten paramitas arise on each bhumi. It is not that there is no desire to accomplish the ten perfections on all bhumis, but there is supreme desire, which is the general statement. Specifically, on the first bhumi, one obtains complete purification of the perfection of generosity, so there is no attachment to body and possessions. On the second bhumi, one's discipline is completely purified, so one does not engage in the ten non-virtuous actions even in dreams, and one has no heart or mind of harming or resenting others. On the third bhumi, the perfection of patience is completely purified, so there is no anger at all. On the fourth bhumi, the perfection of diligence is completely purified, so there is no laziness. On the fifth bhumi, the perfection of meditation is completely purified, so one is especially endowed with the four immeasurables, and there is no thought that is not loving-kindness and compassion. On the sixth bhumi, the perfection of wisdom is completely purified, so one is not completely robbed by evil intelligence, such as perceiving impurity as purity, suffering as happiness, impermanence as permanence, and no-self as self, or by perverse thoughts and conceptual thoughts of clinging to reality. Thus, combining the six bhumis and the six perfections makes six signs. On the ten bhumis, from the perfection of generosity to the perfection of wisdom, these are emphasized because they are the majority, but on all bhumis there is accomplishment of all ten perfections. How to enumerate the six below this is not very clear in the Great Commentary, so there appear to be some different ways of counting in other commentaries. However, on the seventh bhumi, one obtains complete purification of the perfection of skillful means, so there is no distraction by the minds of hearers and solitary realizers. On the eighth bhumi, one obtains complete purification of the perfection of strength, so one is not robbed by attachment to happiness, and one is not harmed by sufferings. In the spontaneously accomplished wisdom of non-conceptual equality, without moving, one appears as Brahma, Indra, a universal monarch, etc., and even if one sends out bodies equal to the dust particles of fields in an instant, there is no conceptual thought. On the ninth bhumi, through the perfection of aspiration, one closely attends to Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and virtuous friends, strives to hear all the doors of the Dharma, and

To the teachers, the Buddhas of all realms in the ten directions, diligently making offerings with immeasurable offerings such as flowers and incense, and those who know the supreme means of attaining Buddhahood on the seventh ground, completely gather all the merits accumulated by oneself and others in the three times into an extremely vast whole. After sharing it with all other sentient beings, just like a single day, completely dedicate it for the sake of unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. By the power of aspiration, be born in a good place, and by the power of the pāramitā, subdue the unfavorable sides, and always do only good deeds. These three are mainly combined with the aspects of the seventh and ninth, and eighth grounds. However, being born in a good place and always doing good deeds are gathered into one basis and regarded as one. On the tenth ground, with the perfection of wisdom pāramitā completely purified, one plays with the qualities of superknowledge. Even a single atom pervades countless world realms, and shows itself as large, and also gathers countless world realms into a single atom, and shows itself as small, etc., playing with various kinds of dances. The son of the Buddha, the one on the tenth ground, with vast qualities such as dhāraṇī and samādhi, surpasses all other Bodhisattvas, and should be known as a treasure of qualities. Thus, each ground mainly focuses on its respective pāramitā, and therefore also mainly practices the signs of the qualities of those pāramitās. However, in all ten grounds, there is the practice of the ten pāramitās, so it should be known that it has a share of the sixteen aspects. Second, the qualities of the ground with signs are: For all the ten grounds of the noble ones, in all aspects, for the wise Bodhisattvas, the benefits of this ground and that ground are: two aspects based on śamatha and two aspects based on vipaśyanā, and one common aspect based on both śamatha and vipaśyanā, totaling five natures. The two aspects based on śamatha are, with the power of the pliancy of the mind of śamatha, all the causes of bad rebirth that have turned the habitual tendencies of afflictive obscurations and cognitive obscurations, in every single moment, can be destroyed and made to cease, this is the first benefit.
