It is like truthfully reporting to the master what one has seen and heard. The patience towards the various harms done by sentient beings, and the perverse actions of helping but causing harm in return, is like servants enduring the master's beatings and harsh scolding, and accepting his words. Giving sentient beings the two perfections of mundane and supramundane, is like servants fulfilling and increasing wealth according to the master's commands. Furthermore, being skilled in the means for sentient beings to attain mundane and supramundane perfections, and perfecting the accumulations of merit and wisdom, is like good servants being skilled in quickly accomplishing all the tasks commanded by the master. Thus, through these five actions of a servant, the princes, the Bodhisattvas, are like servants to all sentient beings. Those Bodhisattvas who, having themselves attained the patience of non-arising Dharma on the eighth bhumi, wish that all sentient beings attain the patience of non-arising Dharma, are like a teacher who is himself learned and extremely skilled, and then takes other students under his care. To teach all the Dharma of the three vehicles in accordance with the disposition of those to be tamed, is like a skilled teacher teaching students whatever Dharma they desire. To apply oneself to accomplishing the yoga of Shamatha and Vipassana, is like a good teacher quickly teaching students without delay. To always show a radiant and beautiful face to all sentient beings, without anger or bad behavior, is like a teacher who lovingly treats students, always smiling and speaking gently. Even having done the benefit of sentient beings, not desiring a return to help oneself, and not looking forward to the ripening of the fruits of that help upon oneself, is like a teacher lovingly teaching Dharma to students, without looking for material rewards. Thus, through these five actions, the princes are like teachers to all sentient beings. The Bodhisattvas, being extremely diligent for the benefit of all sentient beings, cause those sentient beings who have not perfected the two accumulations to perfect all the accumulations.

It is like the Acharya ordaining students from household to homelessness, giving the precepts of a novice monk, and making them ordained. Quickly liberating the accumulated collections on the ground of fruition is like the Acharya giving the objects of a Bhikshu to the ordained student, making them complete. Causing sentient beings to enter the path of liberation and Nirvana, abandoning the opposing factors of the six perfections, and subduing them, is like the Acharya showing the students the opposing factors of the precepts, such as defeat, residue, and downfall, and causing them to abandon faults. Connecting sentient beings with the perfections of the world and the non-world is like the Acharya benefiting the students with material things and Dharma. Thus, just as the Acharya's work is like five activities, the sons of the Victorious One who benefit all sentient beings with these five activities are said to be like the Acharya of all sentient beings. Fifth, repaying benefits is: If a Bodhisattva benefits sentient beings by placing them on the perfections, the way in which those sentient beings benefit the Bodhisattva in return by practicing the perfections without degenerating is as follows: Just as the Bodhisattva gives resources and makes sentient beings possess resources, and those sentient beings are grateful to the Bodhisattva, similarly, if those sentient beings who have possessions give alms without attachment to possessions, the Bodhisattva is grateful to them, saying that these people have benefited sentient beings. Similarly, when the Bodhisattva places sentient beings on morality, those sentient beings do not violate morality, and even if they cause various harms to the Bodhisattva, they have no intention of harming, thinking that this has created the cause of patience for me, and thus they repay the kindness and abide in patience. Similarly, when sentient beings are placed on patience, they also endure in the same way. If sentient beings are placed on practicing diligence, practicing meditation, and practicing wisdom, just as they are grateful to the Bodhisattva, the Bodhisattva places them on these three practices, and they also
