Because these dharanis are upheld, all knowledge arises from the Buddha's teachings in order to proclaim them at all times. Second, the establishment of truth is based on the seven suchnesses. The seven suchnesses are: The suchness of entering is the continuous entering into samsara. How does it enter? Due to ignorance, the twelve links of dependent origination, such as action, arise one after another, continuously and without interruption, and samsara continuously enters from beginningless to endless. The suchness of characteristics is the characteristics of the three natures: the imputed, the dependent, and the thoroughly established. The imputed, which is imputed as the two, grasper and grasped, does not exist as such. The cause or basis of the inverted appearance as the two, grasper and grasped, the dependent, exists nominally. Since the two, grasper and grasped, are not established in the dependent, the nature of the two emptinesses is the thoroughly established. The suchness of consciousness is that all conditioned and unconditioned dharmas do not exist apart from the mind. As it is said in the Sutra of the Ten Bhumis: "O sons of the Victorious Ones, these three realms are only mind." As it is said, all dharmas are merely appearances in the mind, and therefore it is established as only consciousness. The suchness of abiding is the samsaric dharmas that always abide in the nature of the three sufferings. The suchness of inverted accomplishment is the truth of the origin, which has the characteristics of karma and afflictions, because it accomplishes the nature of suffering in an inverted way. The suchness of complete purification is the truth of cessation, because the faults of suffering and origin are completely purified. The suchness of correct accomplishment is the truth of the path, because it accomplishes the truth of cessation in a non-inverted way. With these three suchnesses of entering, abiding, and inverted accomplishment, all sentient beings are alike and equal. From the suchness of characteristics, with the two characteristics of the dependent and the thoroughly established, all conditioned and unconditioned dharmas are alike and equal. The suchness of consciousness is also included within the category of the dependent. In the Sutra Explaining the Thought, it is said that the suchness of characteristics refers only to the two selflessnesses, and in that case, it is the thoroughly established.

With completely pure Suchness, the Bodhi of the three, Hearers, Solitary Realizers, and Buddhas, is similar and equal, because it is similar only in attaining the Cessation Truth. With correct practice, hearing, thinking, and meditating on the Dharma of correct meaning, everything is similar and equal. Thus, it is said in the Sutra Unraveling the Thought. Therefore, entering and abiding in Samsara is the Truth of Suffering, which possesses the four aspects of impermanence, etc. Incorrect practice, the Truth of Origin, which possesses the four aspects of arising, increasing, etc. The nature of complete establishment, free from adventitious defilements, is the Truth of Cessation, which possesses the four aspects of cessation, peace, etc. And, the Suchness of correct practice is the Truth of the Path, which possesses the four aspects of path, reason, etc., which are the Four Truths. Consciousness is the eight aggregates of consciousness, in which the impure other-powered is aimed at the completely imputed, and the part of abiding in Samsara in the manner of dependent origination is suffering, and the part of entering belongs to incorrect practice, which is the origin. Aiming at the completely established, the part of the pure other-powered that practices the path belongs to correct practice, therefore, in the Differentiation of the Middle and the Extremes, the Suchness of consciousness is summarized as the completely established nature. The Suchness that is free from adventitious defilements is the completely established nature, which is the Truth of Cessation. Although neither the root text nor the commentary mentions it here, the five dharmas are also divided from the three natures. The five dharmas are name, reason, discrimination, suchness, and correct wisdom. Name is imputed by names such as pillar and vase, and grasping that as that is the completely imputed. The reason is that the other-powered appears as the part of the apprehended, such as abdominal distension, etc., appearing as the name or reason for naming that dharma. Discrimination is the eight aggregates of consciousness that appear as the part of the grasper. Suchness is the unchanging completely established. Correct wisdom is the completely established that is the object of Suchness and is not inverted, which is naming the object with the name of the object, because the object and the object-possessor are consistent. Therefore, the Lankavatara Sutra says: The five dharmas and the three natures, as well as the eight aggregates of consciousness, and the meaning of the two selflessnesses, have included all the Great Vehicle.
