Showing that this is not a place (of fear) is: If those of small mind think carefully about the suffering of sentient beings, they will be very afraid and unbearable, and as sentient beings are immeasurable, suffering is also immeasurable, and they will think, who can eliminate this? And giving away heads and limbs, and repaying kindness with evil, etc., are also unbearable, and if one takes birth in samsara, one must experience birth, old age, sickness, and death, and at that time one must also experience all kinds of suffering, and because there are many suffering sentient beings, if one takes their suffering upon oneself, one will think, when will I ever be liberated from suffering? Therefore, one should not be discouraged. Why? Because those who suffer from compassion for sentient beings, as mentioned earlier, initially only have universal fear at the stage of adhimukti. Because they have not yet attained the mind of equality between self and others, and have not yet understood that samsara and all its sufferings are empty. Therefore, for those with the Bodhisattva lineage, one should not primarily teach the suffering of samsara and words that are heavily laden with renunciation, but should teach the Dharma of compassion and illusion, and praise the qualities of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, as stated in the sutras. The so-called "touching" refers to touching the first bhumi of the noble ones, and when realizing the characteristic of the Dharma realm pervading all, because one has attained the mind of equality between self and others, therefore, out of compassion, in order to save the suffering of other sentient beings, even if one personally endures the suffering of hell, it becomes the meaning of saving others, therefore, the cause of the Bodhisattva turns into great bliss, such bliss is not possessed by the gods and humans of the world and the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, therefore, it becomes the most supreme and excellent of all happiness. Thus, the suffering born of compassion will overcome all the happiness of the world, such as gods and humans, and the Shravaka and Pratyekabuddha Arhats who have benefited themselves do not possess such happiness, so what could be more wonderful than this? Thus, after attaining the first bhumi, although one is not afraid of the suffering of samsara, if one only thinks about the nature of samsara at the stage of adhimukti, one will know that the suffering is great.

Through the power of my lineage and the strength of my aspirations, even in the stage of an ordinary Bodhisattva, I will not be confused in my heart by contemplating the inconceivable beginning and end of samsara. From beginningless time until now, I and others have experienced various kinds of suffering in this world. Sometimes we experience various kinds of happiness, but now there is no benefit or harm from it. Even though the end of the future is endless, the realm of sentient beings will not be exhausted because of it. The emergence of new Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will also not be exhausted because of it. Therefore, the end of time and the end of space, as well as the end of sentient beings and the end of suffering, are all inconceivable, but because they have no inherent nature, they are like illusions. For the realm of sentient beings that has no end in all directions and times, I will also follow the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the past, present, and future, and practice the great conduct of a Bodhisattva. In this way, having generated the armor-like Bodhicitta, and praying to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas that it may be accomplished, and dedicating all the roots of virtue entirely for this purpose, one will not turn back from the path of the Mahayana and will quickly be liberated from fear. The steadfast Bodhisattva gives to others with loving-kindness, without expecting any reward, giving solely for the benefit of others. Without clinging to one's own possessions, when giving or donating, in this way, the happiness that arises from completing the act of giving that benefits others, compared to the happiness that arises from enjoying the pleasures of the three realms, the happiness that arises in the Bodhisattva's heart from giving is incomparable to even a hundred or a thousand times that happiness. In this way, Bodhisattvas appear to endure suffering for the sake of others, but in reality, their minds have no suffering. Moreover, the joy that arises from giving up the body and enjoyments, etc., cannot be compared to by any worldly happiness. Therefore, how can Bodhisattvas have the suffering of accepting the suffering of samsara? Know that in all circumstances, they have no suffering.
