And, practicing by relying on pure methods, and practicing by relying on empowerment, are described as five categories. What are they? The term "thing" also refers to things like meaning or substance. There are four ways to practice while dwelling on the object of generosity and other perfections: dwelling on the cause, dwelling on the result, dwelling on the aspiration, and dwelling on the power of individual examination. First, due to the power of the Bodhicitta lineage, no matter where one is born, even if one is not made to do so by others, one is happy to practice and meditate on the six perfections such as giving, and based on that, one accomplishes any of the perfections. Second, having become accustomed to practicing the perfections in the past, one obtains a physical basis in another life that naturally engages in them. Third, no matter where one is born, one makes aspirations to practice the six perfections, such as becoming a giver of generosity without attachment to body and possessions, and one accomplishes the perfections through the power of those aspirations. Fourth, one individually examines with intelligence and wisdom, understands that possessions are impermanent and without essence, and then engages in generosity, etc., and properly practices the perfections after understanding their qualities. Second, there are four types of attention when meditating based on attention: aspiring attention, believing and aspiring as stated in the Mahayana Sutras that teach the six perfections, the realm of perfections will be strengthened. Experiencing the taste of attention is to regard it as a virtue that I have practiced generosity in the past, and it is good to do so, and to be very happy to remember what I have done in the past. Rejoicing attention is to rejoice and rejoice in the practice of generosity and other perfections by beings in the ten directions of the world, just as one rejoices and rejoices in one's own practice. Extremely joyful attention is to be happy to practice the perfections, thinking that oneself and others, wherever they are born in the future, may be able to practice the perfections. Third, there are six ways to practice based on intention: the intention of not knowing satisfaction or not knowing satiety, the intention of greatness, the intention of joy, the intention of benefit, the intention of non-contamination, and the intention of virtue. First, there are also four ways of not knowing satiety, taking generosity as an example:

Not knowing satisfaction in giving is for the sake of benefiting one sentient being and bringing them to complete maturity. Even if one were to fill worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River with the seven precious substances and give them to that one sentient being, one would not generate the thought, "I have given this much to them, now it is enough." Not knowing satisfaction in giving one's body means that at every moment, for the sake of one sentient being, one gives one's own body as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, yet one does not generate the thought, "I have given this many bodies, now it is enough." This is how to train the mind in not knowing satisfaction. Not knowing satisfaction with time means that one gives one's body and possessions in such a way that, for the sake of one sentient being, for kalpas as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River, one gives continuously, without interruption, even for a single moment. Even if I have given this much of external and internal things for this many kalpas, one does not think, "Now it is enough," but rather generates the thought of not knowing satisfaction. Fourth, not knowing satisfaction with sentient beings means that, in that way, one sentient being is filled with worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River with the seven precious substances, and that many bodies are given for that many kalpas, and that one sentient being is placed in unsurpassed enlightenment and brought to maturity. Similarly, from two sentient beings, three sentient beings, up to the end of all sentient beings, one places them in unsurpassed enlightenment in that way, and if one takes exhaustive examination as the measure, even if all sentient beings are made into Buddhas, one does not think, "Now it is enough." Generating a thought of insatiability like that, just training the mind in that way, generates the thought of not knowing satisfaction. Second, the vast thought is the thought of wanting to continuously do such giving, etc., not just for a moment, but without interruption, from the time one sits at the Bodhi tree until one attains the fruit of enlightenment. Third, the thought of joy is that, in that way, after maturing the sentient beings gathered by giving, etc., one generates the joyful thought, "These are my companions in attaining unsurpassed enlightenment." In that way, for the sentient beings who are the object of benefit, not in the way that they generate joy, but one cherishes and loves those sentient beings very much. Fourth, the beneficial
