I The very nature of mind appears as various dharmas, seen like dreams and illusions. Bodhisattvas attain the path of seeing because they directly see that the nature of the apprehended and the apprehender, being non-existent, is perfectly accomplished. Therefore, being liberated from the objects to be abandoned by the path of seeing, it is definitely said that they have attained the path of seeing at that time. Furthermore, it is said that those who have attained the path of seeing know the three aspects of emptiness, that is, through the subsequent attainment of pure worldly wisdom or the wisdom that distinguishes phenomena, they know that the imputed is like a snake on a rope, an emptiness that is without any reality; similarly, they know that although the dependent is not existent as it is conceived by children, the emptiness of the dependent nature, which is the basis of appearance, is existent; and they know that the perfectly established is empty of inherent existence because it is from the very beginning free from the duality of grasper and grasped. Therefore, the one on the path of seeing is said to know emptiness. Having thus explained the emptiness samadhi among the three samadhis, the basis or object of the signless samadhi is: for all the dharmas from form to nirvana, the various conceptualizations that distinguish them as their respective signs are the truth of cessation, which is the complete exhaustion and cessation. As it is said in the Abhidharmasamuccaya: "The characteristic of the truth of cessation is that where it ceases, there is suchness. By what does it cease? By the truth of the path. What ceases? Conceptualizations cease." Thus it is explained. The basis or object of the wishless samadhi is the unreal imputed, the impure dependent. Since this unreal conceptualization is the basis of the seeds of afflictions and cognitive obscurations, and is the cause of various sufferings such as birth and aging, it should not be an object of aspiration, but rather an object of contemplation. In what way do the sons of the Buddhas attain all the various dharmas of the path of enlightenment, such as the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, including the four mindfulnesses, which are in accordance with the aspects of enlightenment? That is, constantly, inseparably, they are attained simultaneously with the path of seeing, which has the nature of the sixteen moments of forbearance and knowledge. That is to say, at the time of attaining the first supramundane uncontaminated path, the four mindfulnesses, etc., which were previously in the stage of aspiration and conduct.

Therefore, all meditations are fully matured and purified, and in order to obtain all the abilities to manifest the higher paths of meditation. Praising the wonderful qualities of the first Bhumi Bodhisattva. It is explained by the five verses "Whoever with wisdom" etc. Whoever, with the power of wisdom, knows that all these beings, although empty of the two selves, yet due to the cause of ignorance, actions etc. arise dependently on other conditions, merely as fabricated phenomena. Knowing that the selflessness of the experiencer is also merely the increase of the nature of the three sufferings matured by the power of karma and afflictions. Abandoning the view of seeing the meaningless, illusory nature as self. Obtaining the great view of self-other equality, the Bodhisattva who accomplishes the great benefit of benefiting limitless sentient beings, even without self-grasping, sees other beings as self. Although he has directly realized the non-duality of self, yet because of sentient beings who have not realized this, suffering various kinds of pain as if there were two selves due to the influence of their own illusory appearances, the Bodhisattva takes them as his own, and in order to eliminate such dream-like suffering, he does not abandon diligence until the end of future times. Therefore, having liberated himself from the defiled dharmas, although he has no suffering, he suffers greatly because of the suffering of other sentient beings, just like a mother suffering for her child, because he has taken on the responsibility of eliminating the suffering of limitless sentient beings. Having attained the first Bhumi, he is free from the five fears, so he will not be weary of taking on the suffering of others. The five fears are: the fear of not having a livelihood, the fear of not having fame such as praise, the fear of the retinue's evil conduct, the fear of falling into the lower realms, and the fear of death. He has transcended these five fears. Just as one helps oneself without expecting a reward, he accomplishes all the benefits of other sentient beings without expecting a reward. Whoever, with the excellent liberation of the Mahayana view, and the pure wisdom of the first Bhumi, has abandoned the views seen by his mind,
