Just as all the subsequent mental activities also expand the realm of the six perfections, and it should be known that the order of above and below should also occur sequentially. Here is a brief explanation of the text's words. Power is in four aspects: As will be explained below, seeing that one has four powers, one generates joy towards these powers, and one is certain not to be discouraged, meaning that if one has power, one will certainly not be discouraged from perfecting the Buddha's teachings and maturing sentient beings. Regarding unfavorable and favorable aspects, in order to achieve unsurpassed Bodhi through not being discouraged, one must abandon the unfavorable aspects of the perfections, such as stinginess, and cultivate the favorable aspects, such as generosity. These four situations will arise. The four powers refer to having the power or ability to abandon the unfavorable aspects of the perfections, the power to ripen the collection of favorable perfections, the power to benefit oneself and others, and the ability to practice the perfections in the future through the ripening result and the causal result. If asked, what is the power to abandon unfavorable aspects like? For example, seeing that generosity can eliminate stinginess, etc., the other perfections can also abandon their respective unfavorable aspects, such as breaking vows, anger, laziness, distraction, and wrong wisdom. Ripening the collection refers to seeing the accumulation and ripening of the collection of merit and wisdom of the six perfections. Generosity, discipline, and patience are the collection of merit, wisdom and meditation are the collection of wisdom, and diligence belongs to both. How does one benefit oneself and others? Because one is happy to give and does not regret it, one benefits oneself in this life and the next, and one benefits others by giving. Similarly, discipline and patience do not harm others, diligence can accomplish the benefit of others, the power of meditation can eliminate the diseases and bad years of others, and wisdom can benefit others by teaching the Dharma, and there is no need to mention benefiting oneself. If asked, how will the ripening result and the causal result arise in the future? Generosity will bring great enjoyment, discipline will obtain the body of gods and humans, and patience will bring beauty and a perfect retinue.

Generosity leads to the accomplishment of all endeavors, meditation leads to a healthy body and a manageable mind, and wisdom leads to expertise in all fields of knowledge; these are the results of maturation. The result in accordance with the cause is that in whatever life one is born, one delights in practicing generosity and so forth, and strives to practice them, thereby benefiting oneself and others. These are the four powers. Non-discouragement in application of mind is: not being discouraged in maturing sentient beings through the four objects of gathering; not being discouraged in fully maturing or perfecting one's own Buddha-dharma through relying on spiritual friends, listening to the sacred Dharma, and so forth; that is, abiding in the pāramitās oneself and establishing others in them, at which time, no matter what suffering arises from the wrongdoings of sentient beings, or from heat, cold, hunger, thirst, fatigue, and so forth, one is not discouraged and is never satisfied with practicing the Dharma. Abandoning unfavorable factors and cultivating remedies, there are four aspects to the application of mind: the unfavorable factors of the pāramitās, from miserliness to corrupt wisdom, are all sinful and unwholesome factors, and if these arise, one should confess them individually; the remedies, the six perfections such as generosity, one should rejoice in the practice of oneself and others; one should entreat the Tathāgatas to turn the wheel of Dharma, which is the profound and vast Dharma of the pāramitās; and, represented by confession, rejoicing, and entreaty, one should dedicate all the roots of virtue of oneself and others for the sake of unsurpassed enlightenment, making four in total. As it is said in the sūtra: "I confess all sins separately; I rejoice in all roots of virtue; I urge and entreat all Buddhas; may myself and others attain the supreme and sacred excellence of unsurpassed wisdom." Thus it is spoken. Furthermore, there is the extremely pure application of mind, and the perfectly accepting application of mind, and so forth. By applying these aspects of the application of mind as described, one expands the realm of the pāramitās. Therefore, "extremely pure" means generating an extremely pure faith in the Dharma and meaning of the six pāramitās, which is the extremely pure application of mind. "Dharma and meaning" refers to the Dharma and
