If the water dries up, just as the moon's reflection will not appear, in the continuum of sentient beings, if the accumulations of merit and wisdom have not been gathered, and there are the obscurations caused by the evil deeds of creating afflictions and non-virtuous actions. Just as a broken vessel has no water, and there is no water of faith and samadhi in the heart, the Buddha-nature and form will not appear. The word Rūpa (梵文,Rūpa,梵文天城体, रूप,梵文罗马拟音,rūpa,汉语字面意思:Form) refers to both nature and form. Therefore, seeing or not seeing the form body of the Buddha is not because the Buddha does not pervade everywhere, but because wherever there are disciples who have accumulated the merit to see the Buddha, the Buddha appears there, and if there are none, the Buddha will not appear, just as fire burns where there is firewood, and extinguishes where there is no firewood and does not burn. Similarly, for the form bodies of the Buddhas, it should be known that in places where there are beings to be tamed, the Buddha will attain enlightenment and abide, and in places and times where there are no beings to be tamed, the Buddha will pass into nirvana and not appear. Sixth, the activities of the Buddha are accomplished spontaneously without conceptualization, as shown by the drums and so on: teaching the Dharma, showing various activities, and continuously showing the way of birth and death, these four ways are shown in four verses. The Shravakas strive for their own benefit, and their activities cease when they pass into nirvana.

It arises everywhere. Just as a precious jewel, without effort, its own light shines in all directions. Similarly, the Buddhas, in benefiting sentient beings, do not have motivations or thoughts like "I must do this, I must do that." Like the jewel, the various activities of body, speech, and mind, for the purpose of taming beings, definitely manifest in a spontaneously accomplished manner. Just as the sky, as the container for the formation, abiding, destruction of the world, and the activities of sentient beings such as going and staying, appear continuously, so too, although the Buddhas abide in the stainless, pure realm of Dharma, without moving from there, in the ten directions until the end of samsara, the activities of the Buddhas will not cease. Although it does not cease, due to the influence of the beings to be tamed, the activities of the Buddhas appear to enter and not enter, to arise and diminish. Just as in this sky, at all times, the activities of arising and abiding of external and internal things occur, some things disappear, such as forests and houses being burned, sentient beings dying, etc., what was previously there disappears, and again, like external and internal things newly arise. Similarly, in the stainless realm, the activities of the Buddhas manifesting in the world, etc., also due to the influence of the beings to be tamed, there is the appearance of newly arising and previously existing diminishing. Sixth, the profound nature of the Buddha's realm. Although there is no difference between before and after, etc., this is shown with sixteen verses, and there are three meanings here: the profound nature, the profound abiding, and the profound activity. The first is further divided into four: the nature of purity, the nature of being the supreme self, the nature of being an object that cannot be predicted, and the nature of liberation. These four natures are shown one by one with each verse. First, the Suchness of self-nature purity is without difference between before and after, from the state of ordinary beings to Buddhahood. The emptiness of self-nature luminosity never changes its own nature. However, the Suchness without the stains of all temporary obscurations is considered the Buddha. When there are temporary stains, it cannot be called the Buddha's realm. Self-nature purity is pure from the beginning, not newly produced.

It is neither pure, nor impure due to sudden adventitious stains later on, therefore the nature of purity is profound. If there were no stains from the beginning, why wouldn't all sentient beings become Buddhas? If one is a Buddha only when stains are purified later, then one thinks that it is not naturally pure from the beginning, which is difficult to understand due to limited wisdom. Second, emptiness is naturally luminous, and when it is completely purified from self-appearing adventitious stains, the two grasps of the self of person and phenomena are absent, and one attains the nature of things or the essence of the ultimate reality, or the nature or essence itself. Therefore, Buddhas attain the nature of being extremely pure. The non-erroneous way things are, suchness, will become the self of the great self. The object of clinging to the two selves is not the self, because it does not exist in things. Suchness without the two selves, being free from the extremes of existence and non-existence, is the non-erroneous reality, and realizing it is the supreme self, which is called the self of the great self. Third, therefore, the Buddha does not exist in the form of the nature of person and phenomena, nor can it be said that suchness is not the nature beyond elaboration. With a mind dependent on duality, nominally grasping a temporary individual continuum as a Buddha, and then asking whether the Buddha will return after nirvana, or whether the Buddha exists after passing away, asking the Buddha in this way with dualistic discrimination, the Buddha is considered to adopt a way of not answering anything, because the Buddha transcends the extremes of existence and non-existence, and there is no way to express coming or not coming. If one asks whether the emanation body will reappear in the world, then it will appear again and again in any country and time where there are beings to be tamed, even if the realm of sentient beings is endless. But this is different from sentient beings being born after death. Those who ask whether sentient beings will appear after death are asking whether the Buddha will return because they think that ordinary sentient beings will be reborn after death, but the Buddha does not have self-characterized birth and appearance, because he is the nature of suchness. Fourth,
