It is the complete perfection of the essential points of the path, combined with eighty inexhaustible dharmas such as desires and thoughts. First, the generation of bodhicitta that is in accordance with the desire to attain unsurpassed enlightenment is the basis or foundation for generating all the dharmas of the path and the dharmas of the fruit, such as the aspiration, intention, higher intention, and pāramitās of the Great Vehicle, up to skillful means, as well as the power and fearlessness that are not mixed. For example, the great earth is like the foundation for all kinds of grasses, trees, and crops. Relying on this, what is better than the former is the unchanging good intention of benefiting and bringing happiness to sentient beings, like pure gold, even if it is tested by burning, cutting, and grinding, its color and nature will not change. The bodhicitta that increases the two accumulations by diligently practicing the pāramitās is like the waxing moon, which increases day by day. In addition to that, the bodhicitta with higher intention that can take on the burden of benefiting others should be known to be like fire. Just as fire naturally burns and spreads as long as there is firewood, so one should abide in the heat of the path of application, thinking that one must attain from the peak to the state of Buddhahood, and thereby attain the above-mentioned qualities. In other treatises, there are also those who compare higher intention to the waxing moon and application to fire. The arising of these four individually is from the initial generation of bodhicitta up to the supreme dharma. Furthermore, the bodhicitta with the pāramitā of generosity should be known to be like a great treasure. The great treasure has four types, such as conch, lotus, and great lotus, and there are also those who say nine types. In short, just as no matter how much clothing, food, and other things are taken from a treasure that has inexhaustible jewels, it will not be exhausted, so the bodhisattva's generosity constantly satisfies limitless sentient beings with wealth and dharma, and it will never be exhausted in the realm of nirvana without remainder. Furthermore, the bodhicitta with the pāramitā of discipline is like the origin or source of various jewels. Just as countless kinds of jewels arise from that place, the bodhicitta of a bodhisattva with discipline

In the generation stage, it is said that immeasurable jewels of all the qualities of the path and fruit of the Great Vehicle, such as earth, paramitas, the direction of enlightenment, strength, and fearlessness, arise. The mind of enlightenment endowed with the perfection of patience should be understood to be like a great ocean. Just as the great ocean does not become turbid even when stirred by boats, fish, crocodiles, etc., and its depths do not move, so too the mind of a bodhisattva endowed with patience cannot be disturbed by any faults such as hardships and harm from others. Furthermore, the mind of enlightenment endowed with the perfection of diligence is like a vajra. Just as a vajra jewel cannot be destroyed by fire, water, cutting, polishing, etc., so too the mind of enlightenment of a bodhisattva cannot be destroyed by the weapon of laziness. The mind of enlightenment endowed with the perfection of meditation is like the king of mountains, Mount Meru, which cannot be moved by anything in the four directions. Similarly, the samadhi of a bodhisattva cannot be moved by distracting thoughts. The mind of enlightenment endowed with the perfection of wisdom is like the king of medicines. Just as that medicine, merely by being seen, touched, smelled, or tasted in the mouth, can pacify all diseases arising from bile and phlegm, so too by listening, contemplating, and meditating on the perfection of wisdom, all diseases of the obscurations of afflictions and knowledge are pacified. Furthermore, the mind of enlightenment endowed with the four immeasurables should be understood to be like a great friend. Just as a great friend, in all three times, whether in times of happiness, suffering, or equanimity, acts as a friend and does not abandon, so too compassion liberates from suffering in times of suffering, loving-kindness abides in happiness in times of unhappiness, joy rejoices and acts as a friend without separation from happiness, and equanimity, without attachment to those who have happiness, and without anger towards those who have suffering, thinks in this way, without attachment or aversion, the mind abides in peace. The mind of enlightenment endowed with the five superknowledges is like a wish-fulfilling jewel, which produces desired needs. With the eye of miraculous power, one sees all forms and death and rebirth.
