With joy and faith, and with mindfulness and wisdom, such mindfulness also expands the realm of the pāramitās. After that, "desiring common fruits" means practicing the six perfections and wishing that the mature fruits of the pāramitās are not only for oneself, but are shared with others. Such dedicated mindfulness also expands the realm of the pāramitās. After that, "believing as in enlightenment" means that just as all the Buddhas of the past, present, and future have practiced the six perfections and attained unsurpassed enlightenment, so too may I, through practicing the six perfections, realize perfect enlightenment, and such faith also expands the realm of the pāramitās. Thus, the joy of focusing on the cause, the mindfulness after generating faith, the practice of the pāramitās and the desire to share the fruits with sentient beings, and the four mindsets of attaining the unsurpassed, just as the seeds of the six perfections existing in the realm of one's own ālaya-vijñāna are expanded from top to bottom, so too all the lower mindsets expand the realm of the six perfections. Moreover, it should be known that the order of top and bottom should also occur sequentially. Here is a brief explanation of the text. With four powers, joy, etc., as will be explained below, seeing that one has four powers, and with these powers, joyfully contemplating, and "certainly not weary" means that having power, one contemplates that one will certainly not be weary of perfecting the Buddha's Dharma and maturing sentient beings, and for the sake of attaining unsurpassed enlightenment in a way that is not weary of the opposing side and the antidote, abandoning the non-harmonious side of the pāramitās, such as stinginess, and cultivating the antidote, such as giving, four situations will arise. The four powers refer to having the power or ability to abandon the non-harmonious side of the pāramitās, and the power to mature the collection of antidotal pāramitās, and the power to benefit oneself and others, and in the future, the ability to practice the pāramitās through the results of maturation and the cause.

is attained. What is the power of abandoning discordant factors? For example, generosity can eliminate stinginess, and other perfections can abandon their respective discordant factors, such as immorality, anger, laziness, distraction, and wrong knowledge. Maturing the accumulations means accumulating and maturing the accumulations of merit and wisdom of the six perfections. Generosity, discipline, and patience are the accumulation of merit, while wisdom and concentration are the accumulation of wisdom, and diligence belongs to both. How does one benefit oneself and others? By being happy to give and not regretting it, one benefits oneself in this life and the next, and giving also benefits others. Similarly, discipline and patience prevent harm to others, diligence accomplishes the benefit of others, the power of concentration eliminates diseases and bad years of others, and wisdom teaches the Dharma, thereby benefiting others, not to mention benefiting oneself. What kind of ripening result and causal result will occur in the future? Generosity will bring great enjoyment, discipline will bring the body of gods and humans, patience will bring beauty and a complete retinue, diligence will accomplish all tasks, concentration will bring a healthy body and a workable mind, and wisdom will bring expertise in all fields of knowledge. These are the ripening results. The causal result is that in whatever life one is born, one will be happy to practice generosity and so on, and through these one will mature oneself and others. These are the four powers. Non-discouragement means not being discouraged in fully maturing sentient beings through the four means of gathering, and not being discouraged in fully maturing or perfecting one's own Buddha-dharma through relying on virtuous friends and listening to the sacred Dharma, that is, abiding in the perfections and placing others in them. At that time, no matter what wrongdoings arise in sentient beings, and no matter what sufferings such as heat, cold, hunger, thirst, fatigue, etc., arise, one is not discouraged, and one is never satisfied with practicing the Dharma. There are four aspects to abandoning discordant factors and cultivating antidotes: the discordant factors of the perfections, from stinginess to
