There is not. The accumulation of merit of the Hearers is as small as the water in the hoofprint of an ox. Thus it is said. Secondly, the advice to abandon wrong views about the Mahayana. In this, eight verses such as "Beings in that place" are spoken. Inferior beings, because of fear of the Mahayana, which is not a place of fear, cause their own minds to be tormented and hate the Dharma. Therefore, they accumulate a great mass of non-merit, and in the future they will suffer the torments of hell for a long time. Thus, abandoning the Mahayana out of fear, from what cause does that arise? The reason is the lack of the Mahayana lineage, and the condition is being seized by evil friends who hate the Mahayana, and because one has not accumulated past virtues, one cannot have faith, and those who have not trained their minds in the profound meaning in this life will be afraid of the Dharma of the Mahayana. Here, even though the Dharma of the Mahayana exists, not respecting it will cause one to fall from this great meaning, so it is necessary to know this and protect oneself from that fault with a mindful mind, so it is advised. There is no other vehicle superior to that Mahayana in any place or time. Its intention is extremely profound, because it follows the minds of the beings to be tamed or all aspects of knowledge. The meaning of following is also explained as the simultaneous occurrence of the Great and Small Vehicles. Note: It shows various forms of the vast Dharma such as land and paramitas, bodhipaksika-dharmas, skandhas, dhatus, ayatanas, sthana-asthana, etc., and each of the Dharma categories such as emptiness is also repeatedly and constantly shown through the doors of many sutras with different forms of words and meanings, and most of what is shown through the doors of intention and hidden intention is not to be taken as the meaning of the words as they are spoken, therefore, the intention of the Blessed One Buddha is extremely profound. Therefore, if the wise examine properly, they will not be afraid of the Dharma of the Mahayana, but will rather give rise to a sense of wonder and respect, so it should be examined and not abandoned without examination. Thus it is advised. Even if one examines, one may not find certainty, but that is because for the profound meaning, let alone the wisdom that each person directly realizes,

The reason for showing the absence of wisdom is: In this stage of entering the Dharma, one first relies on hearing, and then one thinks about the meaning of what is heard. It is impossible to have thought or attention without hearing. From proper attention arises the wisdom of acceptance in aspirational conduct, which takes the true meaning as its object. From this, one obtains the first bhumi of the noble Dharma, and from this, the wisdom or excellent wisdom of the ten bhumis arises. However, at any time, those who realize the profound true meaning do so not with ordinary wisdom, but with individual self-awareness. If there is no such individual self-awareness, how can one ascertain it with the wisdom of discursive thought? It is like not seeing even if one has ears, etc., if one does not have eyes to see forms. Therefore, even if one does not understand the meaning of the Great Vehicle, one should not abandon it. One should not think, "Because I do not know, this is not the true Dharma." Because I have not accumulated merit, I do not have the opportunity to realize the profound meaning, just as a blind person does not see the sun even though it exists. One should also not think that the Buddhas do not know the profound things that have not become the object of our minds, because we are obscured from the true meaning, while the Buddhas possess the wisdom that is free from all obscurations. How could the Buddhas not know what I do not know? It is like a person with cataracts not seeing subtle forms, but the divine eye does see them. One should also not think, "Even though it is profound, why is it not an object of discursive thought?" If it were merely wisdom that does not surpass discursive thought, how could the Buddhas awaken to the profound? Why is it that those who understand the profound meaning, the wisdom of no arising and no cessation, attain liberation, while those who analyze with perception and inference do not attain liberation? This kind of thinking is not a reason to be afraid of the Great Vehicle. If one could be liberated by completely understanding things through perception and inference alone, then all sentient beings should be liberated from the beginning. But this is not reasonable, because attachment to things binds, and knowing that things have no inherent nature leads to liberation. Therefore, it is truly...
