If it is said that "that" signifies nirvana, how should its meaning be explained in conjunction with the three natures? In short, all dharmas can be summarized as parikalpita (imputed), paratantra (dependent), and parinispanna (perfected), and these three natures or three characteristics are all contained herein. Paratantra refers to the momentary continuum that appears as mind and mental factors, as well as the apprehended and the apprehender. It possesses the three characteristics of conditioned phenomena: arising, abiding, and ceasing. Therefore, the past has already ceased because that dharma no longer possesses its own nature; the future has not yet arisen because it has not yet manifested its own nature in the present; and the present, which is abiding, is considered to be without substance or without nature because its own nature has already been established, but it does not remain for a second moment. This method of inferring no-nature through arising and ceasing is how even the Shravakas explain emptiness and no-self-nature. Furthermore, if the arising of paratantra is explained as being without self-nature, then "self" refers to these dependent arising appearances of paratantra that do not arise from their own nature but arise from the paratantra of assembled causes and conditions. Therefore, arising is without self-nature, and thus it is called without self-nature. This is to refute the Samkhya school's view that other things arise from the primordial substance, or that the effect already exists in the cause, and if it does not exist, it cannot arise. "Because there is no own-being" means that things that have ceased do not arise again in their former nature, which shows that destruction is only the cessation of things. This is to show that the Samkhya's view that things that are destroyed are not completely gone but remain latent in the primordial substance is not correct. "Because it does not abide in its own nature" means that all dharmas that arise in the present do not remain for a second moment, which shows that there is no abiding. This is to show that the heretics' view that things do not perish in an instant but abide for some time after arising before perishing is not correct. "Because the apprehended and the apprehender do not exist" means that the parikalpita appears as the two (apprehender and apprehended), and that which is imputed as the two, including the apprehended and the apprehender, as well as purity, bliss, permanence, self, etc.

If we examine it conversely, just like mistaking a rope for a snake, it is merely the object of attachment of a mistaken mind, and there has never been even a little bit of existence as that mind perceives it, so it is called non-self-existence. Thus, the dependent and the completely imputed are considered to be without self-existence. Non-self-existence and non-arising, etc., the former being established is the basis for the latter being established. In this way, with non-self-existence, non-arising is established, because whatever is without self-existence cannot have arising, so non-arising is established. Non-arising has no cessation, and whatever is without arising and cessation is not newly created by anyone, but is originally established as peaceful. Originally peaceful cannot have the arising of suffering, so it is established as naturally in Nirvana. Thus, the dependent is shown in three ways of being without self-existence, and the completely imputed is shown in one way of being without self-existence, that all phenomena appearing as grasper and grasped are without self-existence, therefore all phenomena are without arising and cessation, originally peaceful, naturally in Nirvana, this is the perfectly established. Therefore, although the dependent appears as arising and ceasing, and also appears to arise from dependent origination of the aggregation of causes and conditions, it does not arise by itself; the completely imputed does not arise by its own nature or is without self-existence; the perfectly established is the nature of the ultimate truth that has always been present, without the nature of arising and ceasing, considering these three, one should know that it speaks of non-self-existence, non-arising and non-cessation, etc. Ninth, completely seeking tolerance for the unarisen Dharma, it is expressed in one verse such as "the first and". If it is said in the sutras that one has obtained tolerance for the unarisen Dharma, then what is its characteristic? If it is said that tolerating the eight unarisen Dharmas with the mind is tolerance for the unarisen Dharma. Which eight? The first tolerance of non-arising is: one should not cling to the idea that samsara has an initial birth, saying that samsara only arose at a certain time, because neither Ishvara nor Brahma nor any creator has newly created samsara, but from beginningless time, the twelve links of dependent origination have arisen continuously from one to another, so its beginning cannot be found, so samsara has no initial birth, one must tolerate.
