The suchness of cessation consciousness, The afflictive mind of self-view, etc., residing therein, is like a weak illusion king. Its retinue of mental events is like the retinue of that king. As long as the antidote has not arisen, all contaminated dharmas are controlled by arising, like a king. But the illusion king who is more powerful than that, the wisdom that realizes selflessness, and the virtuous nature of faith, etc., the pure mind and its retinue of mental events, uproot all contaminated aspects, and in the state where the basis of all has been transformed into purity, all uncontaminated dharmas obtain the kingdom of controlling power. Therefore, any individuals who see all pure dharmas as emptiness, appearances like illusions, those princes who have abandoned all contamination and generated purity, do not have the pride of boasting, "I have done this." Now, explaining the meaning of the Buddha's teaching that all dharmas are like eight examples of illusion. Any fully enlightened or perfectly knowing supreme Buddha, that is, those who have become superior to the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, as it says in the translation of the Commentary on Blo brtan, "The Buddhas who know the supreme." Fully enlightened means awakened from the sleep of ignorance, and also because intelligence expands with knowledge. As it is said, since it is the meaning of Buddha's enlightenment, it should be understood as the meaning of supreme realization. If the upper Buddha is understood as the basis of distinction, and the lower Buddha is understood as the distinguished quality, then it will not become a repetition of words. Thus, the Teacher, the perfectly complete Buddhas, in the sutras and other scriptures, teach that the nature of all compounded things is like illusion, dreams, mirages, and reflections, like echoes, like reflections of the moon in water, and like apparitions. This is taught as an example that all dharmas are unreal appearances in general, but specifically, the six internal sense bases are like illusion. Why? Because the people, horses, elephants, etc., that appear in illusion, although they do not have faculties, self, sentient beings, or inanimate objects, appear as sentient beings with faculties, life, and sentience. Similarly, the six internal sense bases possess
