The meaning is, the samadhi of mindfulness and tranquility of abiding, and the superior insight that is determined without doubt, extremely truly determined, these three steps above explain the path of accumulation. Thus accumulating merits and focusing the mind on the Dharma, for this purpose, the appearance of all external objects such as form, sound, etc., and pillars, vases, etc., are all caused by expression with names. Relying only on names, through the conceptualization of consciousness, clinging to this and that, except that the nature of things themselves cannot be spoken of, realizing that it is separate from names, this is called the wisdom of obtaining the warm sign. That Bodhisattva more clearly recognizes that things are only expressed through names or clinging to this and that, seeing the appearance of things from the heart, this is called the samadhi of the peak appearance increasing. In the part of what is taken, the phenomena that appear are the appearance of the mind itself, just like a dream, knowing that there is no external object independent of the mind, and wisdom correctly abides in the nature of mind-only, this is called forbearance, which is entering one aspect of suchness, because it is recognized that suchness is one aspect of being free from the grasper and the grasped, and the grasped is without self-nature. After that, directly realizing that the Dharmadhatu is free from the characteristics of the grasper and the grasped, one will obtain the path of seeing. How is it? At the time of forbearance, through wisdom, it is recognized that there is no grasped or external object independent of the mind, and then if there is no grasped, then the mind clinging to it does not exist, because the grasper and the grasped are interdependent, so if the grasped does not exist, then the grasper also does not exist, realizing this is the immediately following samadhi of the supreme Dharma. Immediately following that, the person with wisdom recognizes that both the grasper and the grasped are without self-nature, the wisdom of non-discrimination manifests, the two characteristics of the grasper and the grasped do not possess the characteristics of Dharma, and they abide in the Dharmadhatu through their respective self-awareness, and through the path of seeing, they eliminate the afflictive obscurations and the cognitive obscurations that should be abandoned. After that, on the path of cultivation, the person with wisdom, through the power of non-discriminating wisdom, from the second to the tenth bhumi, constantly all internal and external dharmas are universally or from all to all equally, that is, without distinguishing the reality of the grasper and the grasped, becoming two.

Due to the state of complete and utter cessation, relying on the continuum or the alaya-vijnana of that Bodhisattva, which possesses the characteristic of other-dependence, the obscurations of afflictions and the obscurations of knowledge, as well as the collection of faults of grasping and fixation habitual patterns, which have been accumulated since beginningless time and are difficult to know and abandon, like a dense thicket in a dense forest. For example, if a few drops of potent poison are poured into a vessel of poison, all the poison turns into medicine, and merely by smelling its scent or tasting it, all the poison is eliminated. Similarly, just as a great poison medicine eliminates poison, the path of meditation of non-conceptual wisdom completely eliminates the subtle obscurations to be abandoned, which are like poison, and manifests the great non-conceptual wisdom of the Buddha-ground. The sacred Dharma spoken by the Buddhas, which can permanently bind all the misdeeds of the three doors of body, speech, and mind, possessing twelve branches such as the Sutra Pitaka, etc., is well-established for the sake of virtue in the beginning, middle, and end. The ultimate root of the meaning of all that is to be taught is the wisdom or prajna established in the Dharmadhatu. Because the meaning of all the Sutra Pitakas is gathered into one and made the object of focus, it is also called the root mind. Thus, the stream of mindfulness that contemplates the Dharmadhatu in equipoise becomes increasingly superior, and in the subsequent attainment, one realizes that there is no other phenomenon apart from the mere conceptualization of one's own mind, and one knows it as mere mind, and the stable Bodhisattvas who realize that the mind is also without inherent existence will not be long in swiftly reaching the other shore of the ocean of qualities of the resultant Dharma, such as power and fearlessness, and will become Buddhas, which shows the state of no more learning. Here, in most of the exemplars, "stream of mindfulness" is an incorrect exemplar, because in the "Great Commentary on Wisdom Stability" and in the "Compendium of Vehicles," when this passage is cited, it also has "stream of mindfulness." In the "Ornament of the Mahayana Sutras," the explanation of the seventh chapter, the Chapter on Suchness, is completed. Chapter Eight: The Chapter on the Power of Cultivation After explaining the Suchness to be realized, in order to explain the special qualities of making others mature, the Chapter on the Power of Cultivation is explained, possessing the nature of power, cause, result, function, and completeness.
