I practice generosity, abide in the virtue of shame and guard the precepts, willingly endure suffering such as harm from others, do not cling to my own comfort such as sleep and laziness, but strive diligently for the benefit of others, constantly possess mindfulness as the main thing, and am not swayed by distraction, and constantly possess the wisdom of equality that is free from the extremes of existence and non-existence for all phenomena, and am the nature of extreme equanimity. Therefore, I am a Bodhisattva in the Great Vehicle who is not disturbed by afflictions. This is praised from the aspect of the merit of not being disturbed on the path of the Great Vehicle. Lodro Tenpa said that in all these verses, the first three lines accomplish the six perfections, and the fourth line shows the dedication to unsurpassed enlightenment. Generosity eliminates the suffering of others' poverty, keeping precepts avoids causing suffering to sentient beings by killing and stealing, enduring all of one's own suffering, entering samsara for the benefit of others, and not being afraid of suffering when striving for the benefit of sentient beings, attaining the samadhi of meditative concentration and being liberated from the suffering and unpleasantness of the desire realm, and not clinging to the characteristics of suffering with wisdom, like this is a Bodhisattva who endures suffering or accepts suffering. This is praised from the aspect of not abandoning the suffering sentient beings in samsara, and not being discouraged by suffering. Not liking the Dharma of stinginess and non-giving, liking the Dharma of precepts that are faultless and become the nature of virtue, denouncing the Dharma of anger and striving for virtuous Dharma, mastering the meaning of Dharma, obtaining the freedom of mind through the power of samadhi, and possessing the wisdom that is free from the darkness of ignorance towards all Dharmas, therefore, is a Bodhisattva who values the true Dharma. This is praised from the aspect of not valuing worldly affairs but valuing the supreme Dharma. Those who have possessions but do not give to others but accumulate and protect them are negligent, because eventually the possessions will be exhausted. Therefore, in order to make possessions meaningful, one should give to others.

Giving is being mindful of enjoyment, and not guarding against transgressions of precepts and inherent faults is being unmindful. Those who possess discipline, whose three doors are tamed, and who are not defiled by transgressions of precepts and inherent faults are said to be mindful of taming. Some texts say "mindful of that," but it is better to translate it as "taming" according to the translation of the Commentary on the Steadfast Mind. Some texts emphasize "mindful of the face," which is a mere scribal error. To be unable to bear harm from others and to retaliate is to be unmindful because it does not protect the minds of oneself and others. A Bodhisattva who does not become angry when harmed by others, does not retaliate, but instead benefits them, is mindful of protecting both oneself and others, which is patience. Not being unmindful by not practicing virtue due to laziness, but being diligent in practicing virtue in both worldly and transcendent realms is diligence. Not having craving for the taste of the bliss of meditative concentration is being mindful of bliss. Holding onto phenomena as permanent, blissful, self, and pure is being unmindful, while realizing impermanence and so forth without distortion is wisdom that is mindful of the Dharma. Thus, a Bodhisattva who is mindful of properly contemplating the Dharma of the Great Vehicle. This is praised from the aspect of the qualities of accomplishing the six perfections with mindfulness. Even if someone begs, not giving or changing one's expression and scolding, and being ashamed to give without respect, even in the world, when the wealthy are begged, they do not give even a little and scold, which is shameful. Bodhisattvas, with compassion, promise to give all things for the benefit of others, so if someone begs, being unhappy and sitting arrogantly is not the way of a Bodhisattva, which is shameful. Bodhisattvas regard even small transgressions of precepts and inherent faults as fearful and avoid them, and are ashamed even if small faults occur. Bodhisattvas endure all harm and suffering, so if others harm them and they cannot bear it and become angry, it is shameful. Bodhisattvas continuously strive with great diligence, so if they practice virtuous Dharma
