Because it possesses the complete purification of the obscurations to be abandoned by superior intention. These are two types of Bodhisattvas that are different from the previous ones. Those who dwell from the second to the sixth bhūmi are called Bodhisattvas with signs, because on the second bhūmi, they practice on the signs that distinguish the various vehicles of Śrāvakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Bodhisattvas, and on the third bhūmi, they practice on the sign of observing the aggregates of innate fear, and on the fourth bhūmi, they see the signs that harm the truths of suffering and its origin, and they see the sign of peace in the truths of cessation and the path, and on the fifth bhūmi, they engage in various fields of skillful activities and their signs of conceptualization, and on the sixth bhūmi, they conceptualize the signs of the arising and ceasing of dependent origination. Those who dwell on the seventh bhūmi are called Bodhisattvas without signs, because they have abandoned all the signs that arise from the sixth bhūmi downwards. Those who dwell on the eighth, ninth, and tenth bhūmis, which are irreversible, are called Bodhisattvas who practice without effort, because with the samādhi of non-conceptualization, they effortlessly and spontaneously accomplish the benefit of themselves and others. Thus, these five stages of Bodhisattvas should be understood as the distinctions of Bodhisattvas who dwell on all the bhūmis. Second, praising the nature of these five Bodhisattvas, from the aspect of accomplishing the perfections as causes with irreversible vigor, praising the meaning of the term Bodhisattva, and from the aspect of realizing enlightenment as the result, praising with the meaning of the term Bodhisattva, there are two types. Among these, the first is praised with nine names such as Bodhi Joy, and two types of showing the categories of Bodhisattva names. Among these, the first is explained with nine verses such as not being attached to desire, that is, not being attached to the enjoyment of the five desirable qualities, completely giving away internal and external objects, accomplishing the perfection of giving, and in ethics, the body, speech, and mind three actions are without non-virtue, completely pure, and abiding in patience, suppressing anger with patience, and with diligence, obtaining the supreme qualities that transcend the world, and with meditation, not being moved by the Dharma of single-pointed concentration.

And, with wisdom, seeing the profound truth of the two kinds of selflessness, practicing the six perfections in this way, also rejoicing in obtaining the great fruit of enlightenment, and practicing for that purpose, and dedicating for that purpose, therefore being a bodhisattva who rejoices in enlightenment, in this way this verse praises the qualities of the six perfections being completely pure. Similarly, with generosity, wishing to benefit sentient beings, with discipline, regarding or wishing that there be no harm to others' lives, possessions, or wives, and no harm from the three doors of body, speech, and mind, such as deceiving with lies, with patience, accepting the harm of others, with diligence, not retreating from activities, becoming steadfast diligence, dwelling in solitude and without distraction, and mindful meditation without attachment to the taste of meditation, and with the wisdom of having heard many sacred Dharma, striving for the benefit of other sentient beings, is a bodhisattva, because by practicing all the perfections, temporarily benefiting sentient beings, and ultimately dedicating to unsurpassed enlightenment for the benefit of all sentient beings. In this way, from the aspect of the merit of doing benefit to others, it is praised as being a bodhisattva. The faults of completely possessing enjoyments oneself are that they are without essence, impermanent, suffering, like illusions, and that due to the faults of attachment to enjoyments, one is born into the lower realms, and that they become obstacles to obtaining worldly and transworldly perfections, etc., knowing these faults, one gives generosity, without attachment to sensual pleasures, renouncing the household and going forth to keep the precepts, not holding the harm done by others in one's heart and bearing grudges, but enduring, striving in the yoga of calm abiding and insight of the Great Vehicle, when meditating on one-pointed concentration, being skilled in the three reasons of the signs of calm abiding, and the signs of praise or attachment, and the signs of equanimity, and possessing wisdom without wrong views such as self-view, therefore being an inner abiding bodhisattva, in this way it is praised from the aspect of truly abiding inwardly. Having compassion for suffering sentient beings...
