If one does not practice oneself and does not teach others, it is a waste, but a Bodhisattva, having received the instructions for practice, practices himself and teaches others as the instructions say, so the practice is not wasted. Thus, these four dharmas are constantly not wasted by the Bodhisattvas. Eighth, correct practice is: Thus, the Bodhisattva who abides in non-waste, whatever he does through the three doors of body, speech, and mind, he practices correctly and properly without error, that is, to those who are busy and poor, he gives the three kinds of generosity completely as they wish. And, the generosity that does not expect to benefit oneself in this life, nor does it expect that one will become very wealthy in future lives, is the correct practice of the perfection of generosity. Similarly, not wishing to obtain a rebirth of higher realms in samsara, but guarding the precepts in order to attain unsurpassed Bodhi; not only does one not retaliate with body and speech to those who cause harm, but one also does not generate anger in the mind at all, so one endures completely from all three doors of body, speech, and mind; one endures no matter who causes harm, whether it is a good or evil being, and one endures no matter how great or small the harm is; one does not exert effort only on a few perfections and a few vehicles, but one exerts effort on all the perfections; with the great vehicle effort that perfects the qualities of the path and fruit of all vehicles, one initiates the effort that produces all good or qualities; similarly, even if one obtains the samadhi of the four dhyanas and the four formless absorptions, one is not born in the formless realm, because one cannot perfect the Buddha dharma and ripen sentient beings in the formless realm, so one is born in the form realm and the desire realm; especially after being born in the desire realm, one can greatly accomplish the work of perfecting and maturing sentient beings; if one lacks either skillful means or wisdom, that is the bondage of a Bodhisattva, therefore, with the wisdom that knows that all dharmas are empty, and the four means of gathering sentient beings with great compassion to fully ripen them, the combination of these two is the possession of wisdom and skillful means, and in this way, the Bodhisattvas are steadfast and properly and correctly practicing the six perfections.

Thus, in the Holy Jewel Heap Sutra, it is said: Giving without expecting maturation, discipline that does not abide in all existences, patience without anger towards all sentient beings, diligence that perfectly gathers all roots of virtue, meditation unpolluted by the formless realm, and wisdom perfected by skillful means, fully endowed with the four objects of skillful means. Thus it is said. Ninth, the distinction between decline and the qualities of distinction is: From where does one abide and decline from the six perfections, and where does one abide and the perfections increase and become more excellent, which is called the quality of distinction. That is, those Bodhisattvas who abide in true practice, the opposing factors of the six perfections diminish and weaken, and the opposing dharmas increase like the waxing moon. The difference between their decline and increase is shown, namely, if one is attached to the enjoyment of desires, one cannot give alms, therefore one declines from the perfection of giving. Similarly, if the subtle precepts are broken and deteriorated, one declines from the perfection of discipline. Arrogance, which does not respect the three doors to the Khenpo, Acharya, and those with qualities, and not being able to bear respect oneself, therefore one declines from patience. Clinging to the extreme of the decline of desires and abiding there, therefore one declines from diligence. Tasting the taste of meditation, therefore one declines from the perfection of meditation. With the conceptualization of clinging to material objects, therefore one declines from the wisdom of not focusing on characteristics. Thus, these six are the causes of the stable Bodhisattvas declining from the six perfections. Second, the qualities of distinction are: The antidotes to these, not being attached to enjoyment, the discipline not declining, without arrogance, not clinging to decline, not tasting the taste of meditation, and the Bodhisattvas who abide in not conceptualizing the characteristics of things, because they are the opposite of decline, therefore it should be known as the dharma of having the share of the qualities of the six perfections increasing. Tenth, the distinction between image and reality: The six perfections decline from reality and become merely an image, that is, saying that one will give inner and outer things, but not giving, actually giving but secretly
