Furthermore, by the power of the bodhisattva's aspiration, accomplishing the benefit of oneself and others with immeasurable bodies, immeasurable rays of light, and immeasurable miraculous powers is not something easily expressed in words, as stated in the sutras, and should be understood from this. Fourth, it is divided into two parts: explaining the three samadhis with objects, and explaining the four categories of dharmas that should be known as objects. First, the emptiness samadhi, the wishless samadhi, and the signless samadhi are the main paths, so they are explained. The objects of the three samadhis, or the objects of focus, are: the two types of selflessness, the selflessness of persons and phenomena that are thoroughly conceptualized, are the objects of the emptiness samadhi. The objects of the wishless samadhi are: the dependent arising of other-powered appearances, the five aggregates of contaminated grasping, which are the basis for clinging to the two selves. The object of the signless samadhi is: the basis or support for imputing the two selves, which is itself always free from the two selves in its own nature, the perfectly established nature in which all signs are pacified. It should be understood as such. Thus, these three samadhis are of the nature of the three samadhis that grasp in this way by focusing on those three objects, so from the perspective of different objects, the grasping samadhi should also be understood as three types. The aspects of the three samadhis are: the emptiness samadhi is of the aspect of not discriminating the two selves. The wishless samadhi is of the aspect of not being attached to the five aggregates of grasping, because they are impermanent and the place of various sufferings, turning away from them and not wishing for them. The signless samadhi is of the aspect of having faith and great joy in the realm where all signs and sufferings are completely pacified, the ultimate truth. The reason for determining the number as three is: in order to fully know that the two selves of thorough conceptualization do not exist from the beginning, hence the emptiness samadhi; in order to abandon the impure other-powered, which is the basis for clinging to the two selves, hence the wishless samadhi; in order to directly realize the cessation truth of the perfectly established nature, hence the signless.

That samadhi. Thus, the three samadhis such as emptiness are proclaimed for the sake of the three meanings just explained. Secondly, the unequaled teachers, the Buddhas, with the intention of benefiting sentient beings to the utmost, regard the cause of the three samadhis such as emptiness as the sutra of the complete meaning of the Dharma or the summary of the essential points, which are four in number, as follows: All conditioned things are impermanent. All contaminated conditioned things are suffering. All dharmas are without self. Nirvana is peace. Thus, it is taught to the Bodhisattvas. How are these four the cause of samadhi? The two verses, "All conditioned things are impermanent" and "All conditioned things are suffering," are said to be the cause of manifesting the desireless samadhi. Knowing the nature of conditioned things as impermanent and suffering, one does not cling to or desire conditioned things that are like the teeth of a saw or poisonous food, so the desireless samadhi is manifested. The verse that shows all dharmas to be without self is the cause of manifesting the samadhi of emptiness. If one knows that the two selves, the self of the person and the self of the phenomena, are merely imputed and not established in reality, then it is the cause of manifesting the samadhi of emptiness. "Nirvana is peace." This sutra is the cause of the signless samadhi. By abiding in the perfect and self-aware state that is originally peaceful, all the signs of elaboration are pacified, so the peaceful Nirvana, the truth of cessation, is manifested. What are the four meanings of impermanence, suffering, selflessness, and peace? The meaning of these four verses of the steadfast Bodhisattvas is that the meaning of impermanence is that conditioned things do not remain for a second moment after arising, and are always without permanence. The Sanskrit word for impermanence is Anitya (梵文天城体Anitya,梵文罗马拟音Anitya,汉语字面意思:无常), where Nitya (梵文天城体Nitya,梵文罗马拟音Nitya,汉语字面意思:常) means permanence and A is a negative particle, so it is called impermanence or impermanence. The Great Commentary says that the impermanence realized by the Bodhisattva is not merely arising and ceasing, but that it is always without permanence, as imputed to the two selves.
