You also know all three. In order to obtain the cessation of suffering and the two paths of cessation from those four truths, the wise Bodhisattvas combine themselves and others with these four truths, which is the work of understanding the world. Because wise Bodhisattvas understand both the truth of knowing the terms of the world and the truth of knowing the four noble truths, they are called knowers of the world. How are the abodes, lifespans, happiness and suffering, rise and fall, etc., of the world realm, which is endowed with three kinds of suffering, and the ways of expression of body and speech that are in accordance with the world, represented by what is shown here, and the various ways of the world, and the causes by which those worlds arise, including the arising, is understanding the conventional truth of the world. Understanding the path and cessation is the ultimate truth, and through these two truths, the entire world can be understood. Some people think that understanding the four truths is the characteristic of understanding the world, and the understanding of the world through body and speech is caused by one's own understanding of the world, so the name of the cause is given to the result, or the cause that produces the understanding of the world in others is given the name of the result. Although this is explained, since this is the occasion for understanding the world, it can also be considered that understanding the expressions of body and speech is also the characteristic of understanding the world. The sixth is understanding the four reliances. In order to avoid faults such as relying on individuals and taking the words of the scriptures literally, the four reliances are taught. The Buddha, the Bhagavan, said in his own words that one should rely on the Dharma taught in the scriptures and not rely only on the words of individuals, which is relying on the Dharma and not relying on the person. For the Dharma of the scriptures, one should also consider other meanings, such as "parents are to be killed," etc. Those with insight should not cling to the literal meaning, but should rely on the meaning and not rely on the words. Regarding the meaning, there are two types: provisional meaning and definitive meaning. One should rely on which definitive meaning has the ultimate standard of judgment. For example, showing that there are persons and aggregates, etc., are all of provisional meaning, and that their self-nature does not exist is of definitive meaning, just like that.

Regarding the profound Sutras that have passed away, and Maitreya, the regent who explains their meaning, as well as the great chariot masters such as Nagarjuna and Asanga, who were prophesied by the Buddha, who taught the profound non-duality, one should not rely on the provisional meaning, but should rely on the definitive meaning. Regarding the Sutras of definitive meaning, one should not rely on the mere general meaning that is within the scope of mental conjecture, and the aspects of grasping and being grasped that become the object of the eight consciousnesses, but should rely on the meaning that is beyond grasping and being grasped, inexpressible, and that can only be realized by individual self-awareness, which is the realm of experience of attaining non-conceptual wisdom. This is not relying on consciousness, but relying on wisdom. Furthermore, in the Sutra of Inexhaustible Intelligence, it says: "To view both person and phenomena as having inherent existence is to rely on the person; to realize that both are without inherent existence is to rely on the Dharma-nature." Similarly, words are worldly dharmas, and meaning is transcendental dharma. Or, all conventional dharmas are words or dharmas, and all ultimate dharmas are meaning. Similarly, any Sutra that teaches entering the path is a Sutra of provisional meaning; a Sutra that teaches entering the path of fruition is a Sutra of definitive meaning. Or, teaching conventional truth is a Sutra of provisional meaning, and teaching ultimate truth is a Sutra of definitive meaning. What is consciousness? The consciousness of sentient beings in the desire realm relies on the form aggregate, similarly, the consciousness of sentient beings in the form realm relies on the feeling aggregate, the consciousness of the lower three realms of the formless realm relies on the perception aggregate, and the consciousness of the peak of existence relies on the aggregate of formations. Thus, consciousness abides in and is close to the four aggregates of form, etc., this is consciousness. Knowing that all these consciousnesses abiding in the four aggregates are emptiness, and thus not clinging to consciousness itself, this is called wisdom. The necessity of teaching the four reliances is: Some people, following their own desires, say, "This is not the Buddha's teaching, nor is it the true Dharma," in order to avoid abandoning or slandering the true Dharma spoken by the Buddha himself, the first reliance is needed. In order to avoid clinging to actions such as killing one's father and mother, as previously stated, the second reliance is needed. The Buddha, regarding ordinary beings and those four
