The yoga of tranquility and insight becomes vast and expansive. Whatever constitutes an obstacle and whatever aligns with it, this and that, all the Victorious Ones have taught precisely and accurately, revealing it at this very moment. Thus, the essence of the training in superior morality, concentration, and wisdom, along with their obstacles and the practices that align with them, are taught without error. Through these instructions and subsequent teachings, the Bodhisattva enters the three trainings, abandoning aspects that are discordant with them, and revealing practices that are in harmony. Consequently, they attain the vast yoga of tranquility and insight, achieving the bhumis, and with the vision of wisdom, they thoroughly purify the obscurations of afflictions. With the nature of non-discrimination, they realize the three spheres, becoming the antidote to the obscurations of knowledge, the supreme path of enlightenment. With transcendent power, they overwhelm all of existence, including the Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. The great darkness of the two obscurations, afflictions and knowledge, is also completely dispelled, and like the rising of the great sun, they illuminate the path for beings. The worldly sun cannot illuminate the gaps obscured by other objects, but this one (the Bodhisattva), by teaching the Dharma, can dispel the darkness of all ignorance. Therefore, like the rising of a great sun never seen before, or the great sun illuminating all the worlds in the ten directions, they appear clearly and brightly in the world. Thus, by constantly accumulating the merit of the two accumulations, just as rivers fill the ocean, one's own being is completely filled. The supreme Bodhisattva, who constantly receives vast instructions from the perfect Buddha, attains the vast and expansive concentration of mind that corresponds to insight, and from the first bhumi to the Buddha bhumi, immeasurable qualities will reach the other shore. This concludes the explanation of the fifteenth chapter, "Instructions and Subsequent Teachings," from the Ornament for the Mahayana Sutras. Chapter Sixteen: The Chapter on Actions Endowed with Skillful Means Intermediate Verse: Increased faith and, Seeking and explaining the Dharma, Likewise, practice and

As it is said, "With the correct teachings, follow the instructions," the fifth, concerning the essence of the qualities that lead to enlightenment, begins by generating vast aspiration, seeking the words of the profound and vast scriptures and the meanings they explain. Having obtained the Dharma, it is taught to others, the meaning of the Dharma is practiced and cultivated, and the cause that makes practice even more excellent—the teachings and subsequent instructions—are received, thereby entering the realm of the noble ones. These five chapters, in the manner of the Dharma methods that lead to enlightenment and the perfections, as well as the general outline of the chapters on immeasurable offerings and the qualities of enlightenment, are summarized together here. Second, regarding the actual essence of the qualities that lead to enlightenment, it includes: the chapter on skillful means, which is what is grasped by what; the chapter on perfections and objects of gathering, which are grasped by those skillful means; the chapter on immeasurable offerings; the three chapters on the qualities that lead to enlightenment; and the chapter on the qualities that are based on them; and the chapter on the classification of conduct, the stages of the grounds, and the ultimate, totaling six chapters. Among them, the first chapter on skillful means includes the actions to be grasped by skillful means, and the explanation of the three ways of grasping. Just as the great earth is the support for forests, sentient beings, mountains, and rivers at all times and in all ways, the stable external mountains, forests, rivers, etc., and the moving internal sentient beings all rely on the earth. Similarly, the three actions of body, speech, and mind of the wise Bodhisattvas, at all times, whether it is generosity, etc., or the thirty-seven qualities of enlightenment, etc., in short, all virtuous dharmas, there is nothing that does not rely on the actions of the three doors of body, speech, and mind. Therefore, the support of all virtuous dharmas is said to be the actions of the three doors of body, speech, and mind. Second, each verse explains the three: non-retrogression, abandoning the intention of inferior paths, and non-conceptual wisdom.
