It also shows that the other is not established. The argument itself has four dissimilar ways. First, if the cause produces what is to be produced, then the production of what is to be produced is the cause. If it cannot produce the fruit, then the producer does not exist, so all the fruits become without cause. If the fruit has a cause, then the production is dependent on this, but not mutually established by nature, then from which cause does which fruit arise? Moreover, from which of the two does which arise first? It is said that the cause is not prior, but self-established, because there is no fruit, so it cannot be established as the cause. The fruit is not prior, because there is no cause. Second, if your cause produces the fruit by contact, then, if the minute particles always exist, there is no contact, and if there is no interval, like the water of rivers and oceans, those abilities are the same, so the producer cause and fruit have no difference. If they are separate, then there is no contact, and nothing helps, like the eastern seed and the western fruit, this cause is also no different from non-causes. Apart from these two situations of contact and non-contact, there will be no other third thought. Third, if both are unreasonable, then because your cause does not produce the fruit, there is no such thing called "fruit", and if there is no fruit, then the cause without fruit has no reason to be considered a cause, or becomes without cause, so the cause does not exist either. Fourth, because both cause and effect are not true, like illusions, so there is no fault for me. For example, the illusion created by the illusionist on the palm of the hand, the king leads four kinds of armies to fight, if that is truly existing, then the army is numerous, and not even one person can fit, which is unreasonable. If it is not truly existing, the palm will not become larger. The army will not become smaller, although it only appears as an army, it is not real, so it cannot be said that this contains that, just like it cannot be refuted and examined. Therefore, things that are famous without being examined by the people of the world can also exist. Second, refuting the inference can also refute itself. The argument and its answer.

Secondly, regarding the first point, there are three arguments: one is the argument that contact is similar to oneself, leading to a fallacy; the second is the argument that such a fallacy is not a valid reason; and the third is the argument that one attacks others arbitrarily without having one's own position. First, then, Madhyamika, do you use this refutation to refute the object to be refuted by contact or by non-contact? If you say yes, then isn't this fault also applicable to you? Because whenever you say the words "contact and non-contact are not allowed," and only completely destroy your own position, then your refutation cannot be effective. Second, because there is a consequence of a similar inference even in one's own words, that is, using a seemingly valid reason to generate the similarity of non-contact, what reason is there for this? For example, a suitable magnet can attract iron that is in a suitable place even without contact, but not all non-contacting things can attract; even if the eye does not make contact, it cannot see all objects that are in a suitable place. Similarly, a cause can produce a suitable result even without contact, but not all non-contacting things cannot produce. Therefore, because you are unreasonably slandering all things, you, Madhyamika, will not be accepted by noble beings, that is, you will not be accepted. Third, because you have no position of your own, you are merely attacking others arbitrarily. The answer to the second question: There are two aspects, one is to explain the answer regarding contact, etc., and the other is to explain that the remaining answer has already been explained above. First, briefly explain that this argument will affect the other party, but will not affect oneself. Second, explain it in detail with reason. First, does the refuter refute the object to be refuted by contact or non-contact? If it is said that it is refuted by contact, then this fault applies to those who claim to have a truly established position, that is, those who promise that things are established by their own nature, but for me, the Madhyamika, since there is no such position, this inference is impossible. In one's own system, neither the refuter nor the object to be refuted can be established, whether by contact or non-contact, because both of them have no self-nature. Therefore, it is said in the sutra: Does a born dharma obtain an unborn dharma? Does an unborn dharma obtain an unborn dharma?
